Wilson Building, Room 500 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20004 On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, Councilmember Anita Bonds, Chairperson of the Committee on Housing & Neighborhood Revitalization, wih hold a pubhc hearing on BiU 23-0433, the "Rental Housing Act Extension Amendment Act of 2019". The hearing will take place in Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., at 11:00 a.m. The purpose of Bill 23-0433, the "Rental Housing Act Extension Amendment Act of 2019", is to prevent fiarther deterioration of the District's housing affordability crisis by extending the District's rent stabilization program (rent control) for another 10 years. In addition to testimony on the extension of rent stabilization, witnesses are invited to also testify on suggested improvements to the District's rent stabilization program. Those who wish to testify are requested to telephone the Committee on Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization, at (202) 724-8198, or email housing@dccouncil.us, and provide their name, address, telephone number, organizational affiliation and title (if any), by close of business on November 12, 2019. Persons wishing to testify are encouraged to submit 15 copies of written testimony. Oral testimony should be limited to three minutes for individuals and five minutes for organizations. If you are unable to testify at the pubhc hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record. Written statements should be submitted to the Committee on Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization, John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Sraite G6, Washington, D.C. 20004. The record wiU close at 5:00 p.m. on November 27, 2019.
