NADEAU, CHAIRPERSON COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS AND OPERATIONS ANNOUNCES A PUBLIC HEARING ON B25-0069 – “DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROCUREMENT AUTHORITY AMENDMENT ACT OF 2023” Thursday, May 25, 2023, 10 a.m. Virtual Public Hearing via Zoom Streamed live at https://www.brianneknadeau.com/live On Thursday, May 25, 2023, Councilmember Brianne K. Nadeau, Chairperson of the Committee on Public Works and Operations, will hold a public hearing on B25-0069 – “District of Columbia Public Schools Procurement Authority Amendment Act of 2023”. The hearing will be held virtually via the Zoom platform beginning at 10:00 a.m. Bill 25-0069, the “District of Columbia Public Schools Procurement Authority Amendment Act of 2023” would repeal the independent procurement authority of the District of Columbia Public Schools. The Committee invites the public to testify or to submit written testimony. Anyone wishing to testify at the hearing should complete the witness form at https://www.brianneknadeau.com/testify or call the Committee on Public Works & Operations at 202-834-7976 by the close of business on Monday, May 22, 2023. Witnesses who anticipate needing language interpretation, or who anticipate requiring sign language interpretation, are requested to inform the Human Services Committee office of the need as soon as possible. We will make every effort to fulfill timely requests. Representatives of organizations will be allowed a maximum of five minutes for oral testimony, and individuals (and any subsequent representatives of the same organizations) will be allowed a maximum of three minutes. Witnesses are encouraged to submit a copy of their testimony electronically to publicworks@dccouncil.gov in advance of the hearing. 1 For witnesses who are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements will be made part of the official record. Copies of written statements should be submitted to the Committee at publicworks@dccouncil.gov.
