Joint Village Board and Fire Commission Official Minutes
September 12th, 2022
Held at Village Hall
Meeting was called to order by Trustee Jaskie at 6:36 pm.
Trustees Present: Robert Nash, Tamara Pollnow, Troy McReynolds, Adam Jaskie, Andrew
Ewert, Don Houston-arrived late
Excused: Pat Goldammer
Fire Commission Present: James Zuehlke, Janice Piper, Ken Thiede, Bonnie Schauer, Jennifer
Denton
Others Present: Rachel Ladewig, Zeke Jackson, Michelle Vandehey, Danielle Brown, Rick
Huening, Lt Bill Jeschke, Asst. Chief Tom Nehring, Lt Eric Rozina, Luke Francois, Laura Million,
Kevin Hafemann, Sgt James Spranger
Minutes: Motion by Pollnow to approve the 08.08.22 VB Minutes and 08.23.22 Special VB
minutes with no corrections. Second by Nash. All aye. Motion carried.
Reports:
RCEDC: Laura Million from RCEDC gave an update regarding loans, grants and other programs
throughout Racine County.
WWMD: Carl from WWMD gave an update regarding the activities of the waterway.
RCSD: Sgt. Spranger gave an update regarding the actions of the Racine County Sheriff Dept.
WPD Police: Lt Jeschke gave the update regarding actions of the police dept. in August.
Explore Waterford: Luke Francois of Explore Waterford gave an update on events, etc.
Treasury: Michelle Vandehey provided the updates in the packet, let her know if you have any
questions.
Appointments: McReynolds motioned and Ewert seconded to appoint Kelly Kline to the Library
Board. All aye. Motion carried.
New Business:
1. Lofts II Project: Motion by Ewert to table the proposed Change Orders for the Lofts II Project.
Second by Pollnow. All aye. Motion carried.
2. Budget Amendments: Motion by Nash to adopt Resolution 979-091222, amending the 2021
Budget Amendments. Second by McReynolds. All aye. Motion carried.
3. Danielson/Augusta/Whitford Park Improvements: Motion by Nash to approve the Stark
Pavement Corp. Contract in the amount of $674,320.15 for Danielson, Augusta & Whitford Park
Improvements. Second by Pollnow. All aye. Motion carried.
4. Closed Session: Motion by McReynolds to go into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin
Statutes, Section 19.85(1)(c) - Considering employment, promotion, compensation or
performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has
jurisdiction or exercises responsibility, at 7:06 pm. Second by Pollnow. Roll call vote: Nash –
aye, Pollnow - aye, McReynolds – aye, Jaskie – aye, Ewert - aye. Motion carried.
Don Houston arrived 7:10 PM
2. Motion by Nash to come out of closed session at 7:46 pm. Second by Pollnow. All aye.
Motion carried.
3. Motion by McReynolds to have staff carry out the personnel decisions made during closed
session. Second by Ewert. All aye. Motion carried.
Motion by Nash to adjourn at 7:48 pm. Second by Ewert. All aye. Motion carried.
