Call To Order And Roll Call R A 5/14/2024 - Minutes Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the regular meeting of the Watertown City Council was called to order in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, by Acting Mayor Adam Pawelk. Open Forum 4.A. State Of The Library Presentation F Jodi Edstrom, Library Director for Carver County and Paul Ericsson, Branch Manager for Watertown, provided a PowerPoint presentation on the State of the Library. Jodi shared the Annual Report and what has been happening, providing a look at the theme of community, and the work they do in the library spaces. Jodi went on to talk about community grants, introducing new automatic renewals, and new text messaging notifications. A Paul Ericsson then spoke on behalf of the Library's Western branches, detailing the growth and program attendance in a number of programs they have to offer and the ability to offer new programs, in promoting and working with children and families on early literacy. Paul also listed a few of the many R programs available for adults and an opportunity to bring families together through intergenerational programing. 5. New/Old Business 5.A. 5A -Forest Hills 6th Easement Vacation D City Administrator Jake Foster presented on the Forest Hills 6th Easement Vacation. COUNCILMEMBER THUL MOVED TO CLOSE THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING AND OPEN A PUBLIC HEARING AT 6:56PM. COUNCILMEMBER SCHUETTE SECONDED. MOTION CARRED 3-0 COUNCILMEMBER SCHUETTE MOVED TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING AND REOPEN THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING AT 6:57PM. COUNCILMEMBER THUL SECONDED. MOTION CARRIED 3-0 COUNCILMEMBER THUL MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 2024-21 APPROVING THE VACATION OF THE EASEMENTS AS SHOWN IN THE EASEMENT VACATION EXHIBITS IN FOREST HILLS 6TH ADDITION. MOTION CARRIED 3-0 5.B. 5B - Boardwalk Rehab Project City Engineer Philip Schrupp presented on the boardwalk and fence replacement, seeking authorization to approve the plans and specifications and to authorize the bidding. COUNCILMEMBER ADAM PAWELK MOVED TO APPROVE THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZE BIDDING FOR THE BOARDWALK RESTORATION PROJECT.  City Engineer Philip Schrupp presented on the boardwalk and fence replacement, seeking authorization to approve the plans and specifications and to authorize the bidding. He presented on three older tractors, one deemed surplus, and trading two tractors for the purchase of one.
