Watertown City Council Workshop Mayor Steve Washburn Deborah Everson Lindsay Guetzkow Adam Pawelk Michael Walters 5/26/2020 - Minutes 1. Call To Order And Roll Call Mayor Steve Washburn called the Watertown City Council Workshop to order at 5:31 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Council Members present online using Zoom.com: Washburn, Deborah Everson, Lindsay Guetzkow, and Adam Pawelk. City Staff present at City Hall: City Administrator Shane Fineran and Clerk/Treasurer Lynn Tschudi. 2. New Business 2.I. New Website Preview City Administrator Fineran walked council through a demonstration of the new city website from CivicPlus. The city website will go live on June 15, 2020. The new domain will be www.watertownmn.gov. Fineran said the website will be mobile and tablet friendly. Guetzkow asked if those residents who are currently receiving notifications will receive notifications moving forward. Fineran said those residents will need to sign up again since the city does not have those email addresses. Guetzkow asked how far back the agendas will be available. Fineran said there will be two years available on the new website and anything older can be requested at City Hall. Everson asked if there is a button for zoning code. Fineran said there is not a direct link to zoning code, however the entire Municipal Code can be reached through the mega menu. Mayor Washburn asked what the options are for making the logo translucent on the main page. Fineran said that is not possible due to ADA requirements. Washburn would like to see staff pictures posted on the staff directory. Guetzkow suggested changing the name from “staff directory” to “directory” as to encompass the council and staff. Fineran walked council through the backside of the website and how staff will make changes by using modules. Pawelk stated the new site looks more user friendly than the current site. Guetzkow is looking forward to the upgrade. She would like to see the “Welcome to Watertown” video highlighted on the Economic Development Authority page.  modules. Washburn would like to see more detailed maps added to locations around the city such as the Food Shelf and Community Gardens. He would also like the ability to add pictures to pages. Mayor Washburn asked about the ability for residents to actively tag locations throughout Watertown and add photos.
