VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee August 7, 2019 The August 7, 2019 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting was called to order by Phil Willems at 5:30 pm. PRESENT: Phil Willems, Chris Zellner, Gary Herzberg, John Pomeranke, Susan Rather, and Bob Khouri. ALSO PRESENT: Don Tierney, Sue McDade - Community Services Director, Bill Frederick - Public Works/Parks Superintendent, Rick Moran - Public Works/Parks Supervisor and Jeff Skoug – Recreation Program Supervisor. MINUTES A motion by Chris Zellner / John Pomeranke to approve the minutes of the July 9, 2019 Park and Recreation Committee meeting was approved. NEW BUSINESS 1. Approve Amplified Music Permit for Ripp Park – October 17, 2019 A motion by Bob Khouri / Chris Zellner to approve the amplified music permit for Ripp Park on October 17, 2019 was approved. 2. Consider Parkland Dedication Proposal for the Arboretum Village Preliminary Plat Don Tierney appeared before the committee to review his proposed parkland dedication for the Arboretum Village plat. Included in the plan is a centrally located traditional park measuring .987 acres and an 8.806 wooded lot located north of Arboretum Drive and west of the proposed Thistle Dew Lane. The committee discussed the potential maintenance needs of the woods, need for parking to serve this area and the use of impact fees for the development of the two park parcels.  A motion by Chris Zellner / Gary Herzberg to recommend approval of the proposed parkland dedication for the Arboretum Village Plat was approved. 3. Consider Fred Kolkmann Tennis & Sport Surfaces Proposal for Planning Services – Northridge Park Tennis Court Rehab A motion by Chris Zellner / John Pomeranke to approve the Kolkmann Tennis & Sport Surfaces Proposal for Planning Services – Northridge Park Tennis Court Rehab was approved. 4. Discuss Aquatic Facilities Community Listening Session Sue McDade reviewed the drafted presentation materials for the August 20, 2019 Aquatic Facilities Community Listening Session.
