VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee October 1, 2014 The October 1, 2014 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting was called to order by Chris Zellner at 5:45 pm. PRESENT: Chris Zellner, Phil Willems, Gary Herzberg, John Pomeranke, Mark Mathwig. Brian Malich, and Dave Jost. ALSO PRESENT: Sue McDade - Community Services Director, Rick Moran – Public Works/Parks Forman, Jeff Skoug – Recreation Supervisor. MINUTES A motion by Gary Herzberg/John Pomranke to approve the minutes of the August 6, 2014 Park and Recreation Committee meetings was approved. PUBLIC COMMENT There was no public comment NEW BUSINESS 1. Consider Agreement with Pepsi Cola of Madison Jeff Skoug explained to the committee that a donation from Pepsi Cola of Madison will help fund the replacement of all three scoreboards in Ripp Park – a much needed improvement at these ball diamonds. In return for this donation, Pepsi has presented an agreement that would identify Pepsi as the exclusive provider of beverages sold in the parks and Village Center by vending machine or Village sponsored events. This agreement would be in effect through September 30, 2019. A motion by Gary Herzberg/Mark Mathwig to approve the agreement with Pepsi Cola of Madison for the donation of three scoreboards in Ripp Park was approved. 2. Consider Proposed Parking Layout for the Addition to Tierney Park The committee reviewed the proposal presented by developer, Don Tierney, for the addition of parking in Tierney Park. They discussed the layout as it relates to other intersections along the parkway, the total amount of parking that would be provided and options for additional parking if this proves not be meet the need of the park in the future. They agreed that this plan was an appropriate place to start to make certain that we can support the play that will hopefully begin in this park in 2015.
