VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee August 2, 2017 The August 2, 2017 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting was called to order by Chris Zellner at 5:35 pm. PRESENT: Chris Zellner, Gary Herzberg, Susan Brown, John Pomeranke, Dave Jost and Bob Khouri. ALSO PRESENT: Sue McDade - Community Services Director, Jeff Skoug – Recreation Supervisor, Bill Frederick – Public Works/Parks Superintendent and Rick Moran – Public Works/Parks Forman MINUTES A motion by Dave Jost/Bob Khouri to approve the minutes of the July 5, 2017 Park and Recreation Committee meetings was approved. PUBLIC COMMENT There was no public comment NEW BUSINESS 1. Consider Parkland Dedication Proposal – Arboretum Village Preliminary Plat A motion made by Chris Zellner/John Pomeranke to recommend approval of the preliminary plat as presented was approved. 2. Consider Eagle Scout Project – Devin Hansen – Pet Exercise Area Improvements Devin Hansen appeared before the committee and presented his proposal for upgrades to the Pet Exercise Area including the addition of benches and trees.  A motion by Susan Brown/Dave Jost to approve Devin Hansen’s Eagle Scout project – Pet Exercise Area Improvements - with funding not to exceed $300 was approved. 3. Consider Eagle Scout Project – Harrison Webster – Bat Houses at Castle Creek Conservancy and the Bolz Prairie. Harrison was unable to attend the meeting. This item will return to the next committee agenda. 4. Consider Eagle Scout Project – David Bailey – Ripp Park Observation Deck David was unable to attend the meeting. This item will return to the next committee agenda. 5. Approve Amplified Music in the Parks Permit Request A motion made by Dave Jost/John Pomeranke to approval the Amplified Music in the Parks Permit – Kilkenny Farms Park – August 5, 2017 was approved. Approve Fee Waiver for Girls on the Run – November 11, 2017 A motion made by Chris Zellner/Susan Brown to approval the use of Village Park and all of the associated fee waivers for the Girls on the Run 5K scheduled for November 11, 2017 was approved.
