VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee October 5, 2022 PRESENT – Sam Kaufman, Phil Williams, Gary Herzberg, Bob Khouri, Susan Rather, and Tim Luttrell. Sue McDade – Waunakee Community Services Director, Bill Frederick – Waunakee Director of Public Works, Ryan Endres – Waunakee Public Works/Parks Supervisor, Jeff Karls – Waunakee Public Works/Parks Crew Leader, Jeff Skoug – Waunakee Recreation Program Supervisor. ALSO PRESENT: Emily Soderberg – Planner, MSA Professional Services. JOINT PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING 1. Joint Meetings of the Waunakee and Westport Park Committees – Review Preliminary Recommendations. Emily Soderberg, Assistant Planner from MSA was introduced as the staff person now taking the lead on our project for MSA. The committees from each community met separately with Emily to review and discuss the preliminary recommendation workbooks that included future projects for their respective community. No formal action was taken. The next joint meeting of the joint committee is scheduled for November 2, 2022. WAUNAKEE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. MINUTES A motion by Bob Khouri/Sam Kaufmann to approve the minutes of the August 3, 2022, Park and Recreation Committee meeting was approved. NEW BUSINESS 2. Consider Playground Access Audit and Transition Plan Proposal with WT Group Sue McDade provided background information on this project, explaining that while Strand Associates completed an accessibility audit of all Village buildings in 2021, this did not include a review of the public playgrounds. WT Group specializes in this type of review and will provide project management, access audits, site reports, community engagement activities, transition plans (including cost estimates) and staff training. A motion by Sam Kaufmann/Tim Luttrell to recommend approval of the Playground Access Audit and Transition Plan Proposal with WT Group was approved. Consider Update to Parks PAYGO Project List A motion by Bob Khouri/Tim Luttrell to approve the update to the Parks PAYGO Project list as proposed by staff was approved.
