VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee August 8, 2018 The August 8, 2018 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting was called to order by Phil Willems at 5:30 pm. PRESENT: Phil Willems, Chris Zellner, John Pomeranke, Susan Rather and Bob Khouri. ALSO PRESENT: Ken Pesik – Waunakee Rotary, Sue McDade - Community Services Director, Bill Frederick – Public Works/Parks Superintendent, and Jeff Skoug – Recreation Program Supervisor. CONSENT AGENDA A motion by John Pomeranke/Susan Rather to approve consent agenda include the minutes of the June 6, 2018 Park and Recreation Committee meeting and the amplified music permit for the JAKE Foundation – Tierney Park – August 26, 2018, was approved. NEW BUSINESS 1. Consider Girls on the Run Facility Use and Fee Waiver Request – Village Park November 10, 2018 A motion by Chris Zellner/John Pomeranke to approve use of Village Park and all associated fee waivers for Girls on the Run was approved. 2. Consider Meadowbrook Park Shelter Bids The second attempt at bidding this project was a success. Nine firms submitted bids and the final numbers were in line with the original estimates provided by our consulting team. A motion made by Chris Zellner/John Pomeranke recommending that the Village Board award the Meadowbrook Park Shelter project including Bid Alternates #1 and #2 to Iconica, Inc. was approved. 3. Consider Rotary Proposal for Aeration System in the Village Center Pond Ken Pesik from the Waunakee Rotary attended the meeting to share the details of the aeration system proposed for the Village Center Pond. The intent is to install a system that will help create a cleaner environment so more people can enjoy the pond year – round. All costs of this project and future maintenance will be covered by the Rotary. A motion made by Chris Zellner/John Pomeranke to approve the proposal from Rotary to install an aeration system in the Village Center Pond, was approved.
