VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE
PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
A regular meeting of the Public Works Committee was held Wednesday, August 14, 2013, 5:30 p.m.,
at 500 W. Main Street, Waunakee, Wisconsin.
CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Springman, called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m.
Present: Sue Springman, Gary Herzberg(5:44), Chris Zellner, Randy Bolger, Scott Meske, Brian
Wallace.
Absent: Paul Endres
Also present: Kevin Even, Tracy Meinholz, Jim Madden, Sue McDade, Mike Endres, Tim Bolhuis,
Lyndsay Wilson.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion Zellner, second Wallace, to approve the April 10, 2013 minutes. Motion carried.
PUBLIC COMMENT
None
NEW BUSINESS DISCUSSION/ACTION
Discussion / Action on Aldora Lane Stop Sign (Citizen Request)
Motion Bolger, second Wallace, to direct staff to install a 4-way stop at Aldora Lane & Centennial
Parkway. Motion carried 5-0.
Discussion / Action on Kopp Road Speed Limit (Board Member Referral)
Motion Wallace, second Meske, to approve reducing the speed limit on Kopp Road to 35 MPH
west of the railroad tracks to Hellenbrand Road. Motion carried 5-0.

Discussion / Action on Parking in Cul-du Sacs on Refuse Pick-Up days (Board Member
Referral)
Staff directed to send a letter to residents asking them to not park on these cul-du-sacs on refuse
days, work with Pellitteri on stickers to go on their trash bins and put an article in the next Village
newsletter.
Discussion / Action on Arthouse Preschool School Zone Signage (Citizen Request) Item to be
put on a future agenda. The Chief of Police and Village Engineer would like to study traffic
patterns once school starts. No action taken at this time.
Discussion / Action 2014 Streets Budget (Citizen Request)
Motion Meske, second Herzberg, to move the Pleasant/Hill/April street improvements project
from 2015 to 2014 in the 5 year budget. Motion carried 6-0.
Discussion / Action on Emerald Ash Borer Management Plan
Staff directed to work on a plan for removal and replacement of street trees and community
involvement.
Update on Main Street Project
Mr. Even gave an update on the project. No action necessary.
Discussion of Adding Full-Time Employee for Streets/Parks
Staff directed to bring back a detailed staffing plan.

Motion Meske, second Herzberg, to adjourn the meeting at 7:17 p.m. Motion carried.
