VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE A regular meeting of the Public Works Committee was held Wednesday, May 14, 2014, 6:00 p.m., at 500 W, Main Street, Waunakee, WI. CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Springman, called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Present: Sue Springman, Gary Herzberg, Chris Zellner, Randy Bolger, Paul Endres, Nila Frye. Absent: Brian Wallace Also present: Kevin Even, Jim Madden, Bill Frederick, Tracy Meinholz, Craig & Chris Kuehn, Tom Haberski, & Mary Reed. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion Zellner, second Herzberg, to approve the April 16, 2014 minutes. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT: None REPORTS Emerald Ash Borer Update Mr. Even gave an update. Commission members agreed on June 16 date for a public information meeting. Staff directed to coordinate. NEW BUSINESS DISCUSSION/ACTION Reconsideration of Sidewalk on Bacon Street Mr. Even stated that this item was brought back before the commission at the request of a board member. Both residents affected were present and spoke against the installation. Haberski stated that he will not be able to park a vehicle in his driveway if there is a sidewalk. Kuehn stated that there is sidewalk on the other side of the street and that this is a waste of taxpayer money. Motion Zellner, second Endres, to recommend installation of the sidewalk on Bacon Street as part of the downtown project to the Village Board. Motion carried 4-2 with Springman and Fry opposed. ADJOURN Motion Zellner, second Endres to adjourn the meeting at 6:53 p.m. Motion carried.
