VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE A regular meeting of the Public Works Committee was held Tuesday, July 25, 2017, 6:00 p.m., at Waunakee Village Hall 500 West Main Street, Waunakee, WI CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Springman, called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present: Sue Springman, Gary Herzberg, Sam Ballweg, Nila Frye, Rachael Pings. Absent: Brian Wallace, Also present: Kevin Even, Bill Frederick, Jim Madden, Tracy Meinholz, and Don Tierney. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion Herzberg, second Frye, to approve the April 4, 2017 minutes. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT: None NEW BUSINESS DISCUSSION/ACTION Discuss and Take Acton on Maintenance Issues in Montondon Addition to Savannah Village Mr. Even explained that there have been complaints regarding the condition of the brick areas in this neighborhood. The Village has determined that the “lookout” area is within the dedicated park and was previously maintained by the adjacent homeowner who has since left. The Public Works department will now assume those responsibilities. The other areas are in the center islands. Mr. Tierney was present to address these concerns. After discussion, Mr. Tierney agreed to meet with Bill Frederick to decide the best way to fix the current damage. They will then be turned over to a homeowners association for future maintenance. No formal action taken. Discuss and Take Action on Possible Parking Restrictions in Arboretum Office Park After talking to the police department and determining that this isn’t an everyday issue, they recommended temporary no parking signs when needed for utility work to be completed. The Commission members agreed. No formal action taken. Public Works Committee Minutes Page 1 of 1 Discuss and Take Action on Proposed Sixmile Creek Path Location Staff presented preliminary plans and cost estimates for a path from Madison Street to the existing path that connects to Fairbrook Drive. Commission members questioned the funding and timing since the library connection won’t be complete till 2019. No action taken. 2017 Century Avenue Reconstruction Project Update Mr. Madden updated members on the progress. The project is currently ahead of schedule despite the recent rains. Curb and gutter are going in this week with final paving to follow. ADJOURN Motion Herzberg, second Frye, to adjourn the meeting at 6:44 p.m. Motion carried.
