VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE SUSTAINABLE WAUNAKEE AD HOC COMMITTEE MEETING 201 N Madison Street September 18, 2024 6:00 PM Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER Meeting was called to order by Chair Runge at 6:07pm. ROLL CALL Present: Tom Wilson, Nila Frye, Kristin Runge, Kylee Griffin, Carlena Eaton, Julie Baldwin, Mike Weber (joined later by phone) Absent: David Ross, Isak Drangsveit, Joe Zitzelsberger, Linda Ashmore Also present: Lauren Dietz, Jared Heyn, Emily Soderberg (MSA) MINUTES 1 Approval of June 19, 2024 Minutes Motion by Wilson to approve the minutes. Seconded by Frye. Motion carried 6-0. PUBLIC COMMENT There were no public comments. BUSINESS ITEMS 1 Discussion/Possible Action on Proposal Submissions in Response to Sustainability Plan RFP Staff provided an overview of received proposals and recommended proceeding with the proposal submitted by MSA Professional Services. The Committee agreed with the recommendation. Motion by Wilson to recommend to Village Board approval of the proposal submitted by MSA Professional Services in the amount of $28,820. Seconded by Frye. Motion carried 6-0. 2 Discussion of Potential Projects Mike Weber joined the meeting by phone. Staff reviewed discussions from prior meetings regarding projects that could be undertaken while the Sustainability Plan is being worked on. Lauren Dietz led a brainstorming session with the Committee. Project responses included:  EV Chargers (4 submissions)  Electronics Recycling  Pay it Forward Yard Sale  Garbage/Recycling Educational Videos  Sustainability Tours of important places/businesses pursuing initiatives  Regional Cooperation  Health Parks/Healthy You Initiative Event ideas included:  Tabling at the Farmer’s Market  Climate Fast Forward Conference  Event at Senior Center  Youth Climate Conference No action taken. 3 Discussion/Possible Action on Event Updates and Plans Staff discussed the Sustain Dane event and invitation for members to participate. No action taken. 4 Discussion/Possible Action on Items Not Listed on the Agenda Discussion to remove item due to insufficient public notice. No action taken. ADJOURN Motion by Wilson. Second by Frye.
