Waunakee Area Fire District 401 West Second Street Waunakee,WIS3597-0472 November 2022 Fire District Meeting Minutes-CORRECTED November 28. 2022 The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Waunakee Area Fire District was called to order by Chairman Jim Pulvermacher. Roll call showed in attendance: Jim Pulvermacher, Gary Endres, Nila Frye, Phil Willems, John Cuccia, Chief Dave Kopp, Asst. Chief Gary Hansen, Capt. Brian Adler, and Renee Meinholz. Compliance with Open Meeting Laws: Chairperson asked if we were compliant with Open Meeting Laws, and it was determined that we were. Meeting Minutes: A motion was made by Nila Frye and a second was made by Gary Endres to approve the October 2022 Meeting Minutes. Motion Carried. Bills: A motion was made by Gary Endres and a second was made by Jim Pulvermacher to approve the October 2022 bills as presented. Motion carried. Old Business: A. Additional Full-Time Employee - Chief Kopp introduced retired Madison Fire Chief Steven Davis to the board. Chief Davis shared his background, including that hestarted out as a volunteer. He was in attendance because Nila Frye had inquired about the district bringing in an outside consultant to assist the fire department in determining their future staffing needs. Chief Davis believes that Waunakee has grown to the point where a full-time Fire Chief is justified. Gary Endres commented that regardless of what is done, maintaining firefighter morale is extremely important. Chairperson Pulvermacher said the fire department membership will be a part of any staffing decisions that are made. The board asked Chief Davis to put together an outline of services and a cost estimate for him to serve as a consultant to the fire department. Tabled New Business: A. None Other Business: None Fire Inspector's Report: Capt/Inspector Adler shared the October 2022 fire runreport. Next Meeting: Tuesday, December 27, 2022@ 6:30pm, at the Waunakee Fire Station.
