Waunakee Area Fire District 401 West Second Street Waunakee, WI 53597-0472 August 2023 Fire District Meeting Minutes August 28, 2023 The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Waunakee Area Fire District was called to order by Chairman Jim Pulvermacher. Roll call showed in attendance: Jim Pulvermacher, Nila Frye, John Cuccia, Robert McPherson, Chief Gary Hansen, Asst. Chief Ryan Schwab, Capt. Brian Adler, Capt. Josh McWilliams, Lt. Ryan Endres, Lt. James Anderson, Lt. Mike Meier, Bill Frederick, and Renee Meinholz. Absent: Gary Endres Compliance with Open Meeting Laws: The Chairperson asked if we were compliant with Open Meeting Laws, and it was determined that we were. Public Comment: None Meeting Minutes: A motion was made by John Cuccia and a second was made by Nila Frye to approve the July 2023 Meeting Minutes. Motion carried. Bills: A motion was made by Nila Frye and a second was made by John Cuccia to approve the July 2023 bills as presented. Motion carried. Old Business: A. Squad 5 – A. Chief Hansen informed the Board that the committee is still working on creating the spec for the new squad. No action taken. B. Car 2 – The board was notified that the Chevy Tahoe (Car 2) still needs to have emergency lighting and radios installed. General Communications is still waiting on parts. New Business: A. Budget – Chief Hansen presented a rough draft of the department’s 2024 budget. The completed budget will be presented at the September 25th meeting. District’s full-time employee potential salary increase to be discussed in closed session at the September meeting. Tabled. B. WFD Organizational Review and Future Needs Analysis – Robert McPherson presented a draft to be reviewed and discussed by the board. Tabled Other Business: None Fire Inspector’s Report: Battalion Chief/Inspector Adler shared the July 2023 fire run report. Next Meeting: September 25, 2023 @ 6:30pm, at the Waunakee Fire Station. Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Robert McPherson and a second was made by Nila Frye.
