October 2023 Fire District Meeting Minutes
October 30, 2023
The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Waunakee Area Fire District was called to order by Vice Chairperson, Nila Frye. Roll
call showed in attendance: Nila Frye, Gary Endres, John Cuccia, Robert McPherson, Matt Wright, Chief Gary Hansen,
Deputy Chief Ryan Schwab, Batt. Chief Brian Adler, Capt. Josh McWilliams, Lt. Ryan Endres, Lt. James Anderson, Lt. Mike
Meier, and Renee Meinholz.
Compliance with Open Meeting Laws: The Chairperson asked if we were compliant with Open Meeting Laws, and it was
determined that we were.
Public Comment: None
Meeting Minutes: A motion was made by John Cuccia and a second was made by Gary Endres to approve the
September 2023 Meeting Minutes. Motion carried.
Bills: As of the meeting date, the invoice and financial reports were unavailable. No action taken.
Old Business:
A. Squad 5 – A. Chief Hansen information and the price for a new Squad Truck to be manufactured by Pierce Fire
Apparatus. The price of the truck is $1,217,611. If the truck is prepaid, there is a discount of $146,161. The total
cost of the truck would be $1,071,450 if the truck was paid for prior to the building. The board asked the Officers
to research financing rates. Gary Endres asked if money could be used from other district accounts. Tabled.
New Business:
A. Discuss and Act on District’s Full-Time Employee’s Review & Compensation
The Fire District Board moved into closed session.
Other Business: None
Fire Inspector’s Report: Battalion Chief/Inspector Adler shared the September fire report. He also updated the Board on
the department’s fire prevention week activities.
Next Meeting: November 27, 2023 @ 6:30pm, at the Waunakee Fire Station.
Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Gary Endres and a second was made by Nila Frye. Motion carried.

The Fire District Board may convene in closed session as authorized by Wisconsin Statute 19.SS(l)(c)
for the purpose of considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation
data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises
responsibility. The Fire District Board may reconvene in open session and discuss and take action on
the subject matter discussed in closed session.
