Waunakee Area Fire District 401 West Second Street Waunakee, WI 53597-0472 August 2024 Fire District Meeting Minutes August 26, 2024 The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Waunakee Area Fire District was called to order by Chairperson John Cuccia. Roll call showed in attendance: John Cuccia, Nila Frye, Gary Endres, Matt Wright, Robert McPherson, Chief Gary Hansen, Deputy Chief Ryan Schwab, and Batt. Chief Brian Adler. Compliance with Open Meeting Laws: Chairperson Cuccia asked if we were compliant with Open Meeting Laws, and it was determined that we were. Public Comment: None Meeting Minutes: A motion was made by Robert McPherson and a second was made by Nila Frye to approve the July 2024 Meeting Minutes. Motion carried. Bills: A motion was made by Gary Endres and a second was made by Nila Frye to approve the July 2024 bills. Motion carried. Old Business: 1. Fire Department Study – Robert McPherson shared that the fire district Organizational Review and Future Needs Analysis was shared by Robert Whitaker from McMahon. Each member of the board and the fire department’s officers all shared their initial thoughts regarding the study. Robert McPherson informed the board that Robert Whitaker will attend the Village of Waunakee’s September 16th meeting to answer questions. Tabled. New Business: 1. 2025 Budget Draft – Battalion Chief Adler shared a draft of the fire department’s proposed 2025 budget and explained which line items may need an increase. A complete version of the 2025 budget will be presented at the district’s August meeting. The board will consider acting at that meeting. Tabled. Other Business: No other business. Fire Inspector’s Report: Battalion Chief/Inspector Adler shared the July 2024 fire run report. Next Meeting: September 23, 2024 Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Robert McPherson and a second was made by Matt Wright. Motion carried.
