VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE WAUNAKEE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (WEDC) 500 W. MAIN STREET May 9, 2011 - 6:00 PM MINUTES CALL TO ORDER-John Laubmeier called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. PRESENT: John Laubmeier, Sue Springman, , Tim Schell, Geoff Vine, Tom Bruenig, Al Dassow, Kevin Phelps, David Dean. ABSENT: Phil Willems ALSO PRESENT: Roberta Baumann, Chuck Redjinski, Andy Bruce. REPORTS 1. BUSINESS PARK UPDATE FROM MLG COMMERCIAL Chuck Redjinski and Andy Bruce from MLG gave an update on the available lots in the business park. Commission members asked about the current market and how MLG is advertising the available space. 2. CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT UPDATE Geoff Vine gave a report on the recent activity of the CBD Task Force, which includes meetings with key business owners and citizens to discuss their concerns with the proposed options for the Century/Main Street intersection. The task force is gearing up for another public information meeting on May 26. 3. MARKETING TASK FORCE UPDATE Kevin Phelps explained the work being done by the consultants at AdyVoltedge in creating the new economic development website. NEW BUSINESS 1. REGIONAL PROFILE AND HIGH-RES MAP PROPOSAL Todd Schmidt explained that, as part of the AdyVoltedge proposal, there is an option to do a marketing piece for the website and print material. The Marketing Task Force recommended approval of the add-on to the WEDC. Motion Schell, Second Springman, to recommend approval of the option proposal to the Village Board. Motion carried. 2. ZOOM PROSPECTOR LOCAL EDITION PROPOSAL Todd Schmidt presented the option for promoting the available property in the Village for an annual fee. Motion Springman, second Dean, to recommend approval of the local edition upgrade to the Village Board. Motion carried.
