MINUTES
Call to Order: President Laubmeier called the meeting order at 5:30 pm.
Members Present: John Laubmeier, Sue Springman, Phil Willems (5:36), Geoff Vine, Al Dassow,
David Dean, Tim Schell, David Kennedy.
Members Absent: Kevin Phelps
Also Present: Todd Schmidt, Mike George, Gary Barber
Minutes: Motion Dean, second by Vine, to approve June 11, 2012 meeting minutes. Motion carried.
Presentations:
1. Waunakee Furniture ETC. Sandy Taylor provided an update on all that’s happening at
Waunakee Furniture ETC. she mentioned plans to complete a store renovation during the
upcoming Main Street project.
Reports:
1. Report from WCME on Creative Economy Initiative Todd Schmidt and Mike George
provided a summary report of activities completed to date on the Creative Economy Initiative.
Discussion-Action: New Business:
1. Proposal for Cooperation between the Village of Waunakee Economic Development &
Madison Chapter of SCORE Todd Schmidt and Gary Barber provided a presentation on
opportunities that would come from a formalized relationship between the Village and the
Madison chapter of SCORE. Motion Dean, second by Schell, to approve an agreement between
the Village and the Madison Chapter of SCORE. Motion carried 7-0.

2. Proposed 2013 Economic Development Budget Todd Schmidt outlined the proposed 2013 ED
budget. Discussion ensued, and the EDC agreed to the total dollar amount as proposed but
requested that specific project expenditures come back for approval as they arise. Motion Vine,
second Willems, to recommend that the Village approve a total 2013 budget of $67,500 for
Economic Development. Motion carried 7-0.
Adjourn
Motion Willems, second Dean, to adjourn at 7:05 p.m. Motion carried 4-0 (minus Schell, Dassow
& Springman).
