Call to Order
Roll Call
Open Meeting Statement: This meeting and all meetings of the Town of Farmington Board of Review are
open to the public. Proper notice has been posted and given to the press, in accordance with Wisconsin
Statutes, so the citizens may be aware of the time, place and agenda of this meeting. No formal action of any
kind shall by introduced, deliberated upon, or adopted at any closed session or meeting of a Board of Review.
Board of Review Items:
1. Select a Board of Review Chairperson
2. Select a Board of Review Vice-Chairperson.
3. Verify that member(s) have met the mandatory training requirements.
4. Review of new laws.
5. Verify the Town's Ordinance (5/15/17A(2017) for the confidentiality of income and expense
information provided to the assessor under WI Statutes §70.47(7)(af).
Board of Review Policies:
6. Review policy regarding the procedure for sworn telephone testimony and sworn written testimony
(5/21/2020)
7. Review policy regarding the procedure for waiver of Board of Review hearing requests (5/22/2018)
Assessment Roll:
8. Receipt of the Assessment Roll by Clerk from the Assessor and sworn statements.
9. Perform statutory duties:
a. Examine the roll
b. Correct description or calculation errors
c. Add omitted property pursuant to WI Statutes §70.44
d. Eliminate double assessed property
10. Certify all corrections of error under state law WI Statutes §70.43
11. Verify with the Assessor that open book changes are included in the assessment roll.
12. Allow taxpayers to examine assessment data.
Consideration of:
13. Waivers of the required 48-hour notice of intent to file an objection when there is good cause.
14. Requests for waiver of the BOR hearing allowing the property owner an appeal directly to the circuit
court.
15. Requests to testify by telephone or submit sworn written statement.
16. Subpoena requests.
17. Act on any other legally allowed or required Board of Review matters.
Other Items:
18. Review Notices of Intent to File Objection.
19. Consideration of proposed schedule of hearings on objections.
20. Opportunity for objectors who do not give their intent to appear to give reason to the board as to why
they should be heard.
