Call to Order:
Open Meeting Statement: This meeting and all meetings of the Town of Farmington Board
of Review are open to the public. Proper notice has been posted and given to the press, in
accordance with Wisconsin Statutes, so the citizens may be aware of the time, place and
agenda of this meeting. No formal action of any kind shall be introduced, deliberated upon,
or adopted at any closed session or meeting of a Board of Review.
Roll Call:
Board of Review Items:
1. Select a Board of Review Chairperson
2. Select a Board of Review Vice-Chairperson.
3. Verify that member(s) have met the mandatory training requirements.
4. Verify the Town's Ordinance 5/15/17A(2017) for the confidentiality of income and
expense information provided to the assessor under state law (Wis. Stat. §
70.47(7)(af)).
5. Review of new laws.
Board of Review Policies:
1. Review policy regarding the procedure for sworn telephone testimony and sworn
written testimony (5/21/2020).
2. Review policy regarding the procedure for waiver of Board of Review hearing
requests (5/22/2018).
Assessment Roll:
1. Receipt of the Assessment Roll by Clerk from the Assessor.
2. Receive the Assessment Roll and sworn statements from the Clerk.
3. Review the Assessment Roll and perform statutory duties:
a. Examine the roll.
b. Correct description or calculation errors
c. Add omitted property pursuant to WI Statutes §70.44.
d. Eliminate double assessed property.
4. Certify all corrections of error under state law WI Statutes §70.43.
5. Verify with the Assessor that open book changes are included in the assessment
roll.
6. Allow taxpayers to examine assessment data.

Consideration of:
1. Waivers of the required 48-hour notice of intent to file an objection when there is
good cause.
2. Requests for the waiver of the BOR hearing allowing the property owner an appeal
directly to the circuit court.
3. Requests to testify by telephone or submit sworn written statement.
4. Subpoena requests.
5. Act on any other legally allowed or required Board of Review matters.
Other Items:
1. Review Notices of Intent to File Objection.
2. Proceed to hear objections, if any, and if proper notice/waivers are given unless
scheduled for another date.
3. Opportunity for objectors who do not give their intent to appear to give reason to the
board as to why they should be heard.
4. Consider/act on scheduling an additional BOR date(s).
