Communication (emails) 24-0273 It is fine to send emails to other commission members, but there shouldn’t be a discussion about a topic that will be voted on. Best practice is to send email to members as BCC to avoid that possibility. Avoid using “Reply All” when responding. All emails sent or received by staff are archived by the City. SENIOR COMMISSION DISCUSSION 1. Purpose, Duties and Responsibilities (City Ord. 2.28.020) 24-0275 Dain suggested several things for the commissioners to discuss in the near future. Need for a secretary. 2. Officers (Mayor designates chairperson and vice chairperson, City Ord. 24-0274 2.28.010 A.) 3. 2024 Priorities 24-0276 The last question resulted in a robust discussion regarding pending actions by the Wauwatosa School Board and their effect on seniors in Wauwatosa. The conclusion of this discussion was that the Senior Commission needs to know what is going on and be prepared to advocate and inform citizens, per our mission. Dain will share the Senior Commission annual report with all members and invite Keith Brightman, the business manager for the school district, to our next meeting. Mike Meier will email the PowerPoint shared with the school board regarding a possible referendum on the November, 2024 ballot. Dain also commented on the need for the Senior Commission to share their thoughts during the development of the new Comprehensive Plan that is going on now. 4. Sub Committees 24-0277 Do ad hoc groups need to follow the open meeting rules? Do we continue the Health and Wellness group? Do we want/need any additional subgroups? 5.
