AYES: AHEARN, BAKKER, BRADLEY, CAHOON, CORELLI, DRISSELL, MURPHY, SHAPIRO NOES: NONE ABSENT: MANN The June 5, 2018 minutes were approved. SCULPTURES AT SUNSET Discussed the possibility of continuing “Sculptures at Sunset” at least next year. LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT IN THE ARTS Ceremony and reception will be held at City Hall. First option was Friday, October 5 (later confirmed by Murphy). Murphy will contact J. Joplin. A small committee will discuss the organization of this event. SUMMER CONCERT SERIES Concert will be held on Saturday, August 25, on the Mason Front Lawn from 7 – 9pm. Music will be by Bach to the Future. Discussed PR for the concert. Need to contact Jennifer Conrad about the possibility of yard signs that acknowledge the sponsorship of the Arts Commission. Could be used for other events. Need to contact Jennifer Conrad to discuss whether this event could be boosted by Jennifer Volk. Can we put Volk and Corelli in touch? Need to ask Masons about trash cans. AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE Committee is meeting. Set for Thursday, November 29. MISCELLANEOUS UPDATES Updated on Barbre Park and the Library Sculpture; no discussion of budget. John Ahearn will present some possible designs for a banner to replace the Creative Community banners that are fading. Alan Nehring should be invited to the next meeting to present his orange Adirondack chair proposal. The next meeting of the Commission will be Tuesday, August 7, at 7:30 a.m. in the Second Floor Conference Room ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned.
