GREEN SPACE ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES Meeting Date: Monday, June 4, 2018 Location: Webster Groves Recreation Complex Called To Order: 7:15 p.m. Adjourned: 7:45 p.m. Next Meeting Date: Tuesday, July 10th, 2018 NAME PRESENT ABSENT Annie Russell X Bill Hoss X Frank Janoski, Council Liaison X Ginger Garrett X Glen Horton X Jenine Harris X Joanne Fogarty X Peg Pedersen X Richard Fitzgerald, Chairman X Tessa Wasserman X Yvonne Steingruby, Staff Liaison X Approval of Minutes: The May meeting minutes were approved as written. Upcoming Projects: No update at this time. Pollinator Plant Program Update: No update at this time. Pollinator Speaker Series: After discussion, it was agreed that the pollinator speaker event will be held on Monday, August 6th in a meeting room at the Recreation Complex. The presentation will be at 7:30 pm. Tessa will confirm that the speakers (Ann Earley and Bob Siemer) will be available that date. Their talk will focus on encouraging the planting of native plants to support the Monarch butterfly population, their life cycle, population trends, etc. The event will be publicized on the City’s website, Community Connect and posting flyers. Mosquito Control Speaker: Glen will contact representatives from Vector Control and invite them to the July GSAC meeting to discuss mosquito spraying in Webster Groves. NEW BUSINESS: NEXT MEETING: Discussion was held to move the July meeting to July 10th due to schedule conflicts. A motion was made and all were in favor of changing the July meeting date. NEW GSAC Projects: GSAC members were encouraged to come up with ideas for future projects the commission can work on. Ideas can be emailed to other members or brought to the next meeting. COUNCIL UPDATE: None It was mentioned that Council Liaison to the GSAC was originally David Franklin. Due to schedule conflicts, the new Council Liaison will be Frank Janoski, who was able to attend tonight’s meeting.
