OLD BUSINESS • Rooftop Lighting – Mara Perry is working with Stribe to get the districts scheduled and clean up the estimate spreadsheet. Talking to property owners to get the agreements signed for each property will need to handled by Commission Members. • Radio Snippets – Mara is working on Ellie Wharton; more info next meeting. UPDATES • Banners – Zoey’s Attic is doing a new design for the Summer banners. Members decided in the meantime to take down the Winter banners and put up the Old Orchard “Berries” banners. • Gazebo Series – Kim Massey will be opening the Gazebo Series on June 8th. Marketing items should be forthcoming soon. It was suggested the event be put on the Old Orchard Facebook page and then available to be added to the Explore Webster Groves page. NEW BUSINESS • Business Development Commission (BDC) – The BDC is looking for an Old Orchard Commission to also serve on the BDC. Mary Jane Armstrong volunteered. • Parking – John Layton’s property (the old Commerce Bank location) has been up for sale for quite some time; it has had a price reduction. Perhaps there is an opportunity. CITY UPDATE • The project for the former Gerber Chapel location to rezoned to Planned Commercial for 53 apartments just under 1,200 square feet of retail space with essentially only one parking space per unit. The request will come back before the Plan Commission in May. There are many issues concerns which need additional information are several items. • A home-based daycare business did not get their license and wants to revisit her request asking to increase the number of children they can take get some requirements be removed; the request moved forward from the Plan Commission with a vote of 5 to 3 and will now go before City Council. This same group is trying to also pursue a commercial location with a reconfiguration of the parking area to add an outdoor play area; it will require a conditional use permit and go thru the full process associated with a CUP (nothing has not been officially submitted yet). • Updates to the commercial use language was continued to May; still need to revisit several items such as kennels, car-battery charging stations, group homes. • There’s a new interior design business in Crossroads. • The Ridge House Apartments (YMCA location) site plans are at the ARB for their second meeting with new elevations; three stories with parking and a pool. Lawsuit is still pending; nothing to report at this time. • City staff is receiving a lot of inquiries on places to live that are walkable to amenities.
