GAZEBO SERIES • All is set for the Gazebo Series; permits have been approved. • An ad in the Webster-Kirkwood Times will appear in this week’s issue and a second ad will appear later in the series. STREETSCAPE UPDATE • One remaining easement needs to be obtained. BUDGET REVIEW Mara Perry provided updated budget spreadsheet (See Appendix A). • The total expenses to date figure hasn’t yet been updated on the spreadsheet to reflect the Category #971Transfer Out dollars. • Most categories of expenses are on target, such as utilities. • Revenue from property taxes is coming in slow this year. • The letter to property owners in the first phase of rooftop lighting to pay their portion has not been sent as of yet so that revenue hasn’t come in yet. • The second phase for the rooftop lighting hasn’t been done yet, so the allocated dollars will be carried over to the next budget year. Page 1of 3 DISTRICT BANNERS • Summer banners are in production and should be received shortly before the 4th of July; the Public Works Department will put them up as soon as they come in. • The Fall banner design is finishing up and will come out of next year’s budget. CVC NEIGHBORHOOD MEMBERSHIPS • St. Louis Convention and Visitor Center (CVC) – The City has renewed their umbrella neighborhood membership with the CVC (a.k.a. Explore St. Louis) which provides separate Webster Groves “neighborhood” listings of shopping and dining in the printed and online St. Louis Visitors’ Guide. At least 15 individual businesses will also need to renew/start their neighborhood membership. Mara Perry shared the information letter from the CVC with Commission Members (see Appendix A). The current printed guide and last year’s map were also available to for members to peruse. Fran Sudekum will be coordinating the renewals as well as new memberships with Webster businesses. • Five of Old Orchard businesses participated last year: 1. Big Sky Café 2. Civil Alchemy 3. Highway 61 Roadhouse 4. The Novel Neighbor 5. Serendipity Ice Cream CITY UPDATE • Naked Boot and Shoe has moved from its location in Old Orchard to a location in Chesterfield. A CBD Oil business will be going in its former location. • The YMCA building is currently being demolished. • Porter Paints in Crossroads has closed.
