Rooftop Lighting – Commission Members were asked to think about the future of the District’s rooftop lighting program taking into consideration the ongoing maintenance issues; for example one entire strand will need to be replaced. Shall we go to a 50/50 program vs. the current 100% program. All businesses in the District are eligible for the program, just need property owner approval to participate. Commission Member Abby Culleton will contact her property owner for approval so her building can take part. Gazebo Series Update – Lineup is complete, and sponsorships are coming in. Sponsor solicitation continues. The Series runs on Friday evenings starting on August 19th and running through September 23rd. Holiday Tree Lighting – Scheduled for December 5th. Abby is working with a coral group that will sing for 30 minutes prior to the lighting of the tree. Trick or Treating – Scheduled for October 29th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Old Orchard will participate. Where’s Waldo – The Novel Neighbor is hosting a “Find Waldo” event Webster-Wide during the month of July. Commission Vacancies – Two vacancies still remain on the Commission. Page 1 of 2 BDC Update • Results of the business survey are available on the City website. • The BDC is having a special meeting on June 15 to start discussions to make recommendations to City Council for the use of the $100,000 Business Development Fund in the City budget from ARP funding. • BDC is also discussing their Business Bingo Scavenger Hunt in October. City Update • The May Business License report is available on the City website. • Highway 61 Roadhouse has a new owner. • Final adoption of the City budget will take place at the June 21 City Council meeting. • There will be a Juneteenth Celebration at Barbre Park at 6:00 PM on June 16. • Lions 4th of July Carnival will be held on the grounds of Eden Seminary again this year.
