Jason Flanery – Webster Groves Police Department Fran Sudekum – Administrative Support Approval of Minutes – A motion to approve the April minutes was made by Holland Saltsman, seconded by Bob Weber, and unanimously approved. Traffic Calming/Pedestrian Safety Features – Captain Perks and the Traffic Advisory Commission are putting together a plan for some temporary pedestrian calming and safety features that could be employed in the District this summer. Rooftop Lighting – A quote has been received for just the Hagan properties, but it was incomplete; they will send an updated quote. Two other companies are sending in quotes as well. Streib reached out about the rooftop lighting repairs needed at the Novel Neighbor building; hopefully the repairs will be completed soon. 2023 Gazebo Series – All bands have been secured. Graphics are being updated. Dates are August 18 and 25, September 1, 8, 15, and 22. Holiday Lighting – The evergreen tree used for the Holiday Lighting event has died and will be removed. A tree will be planted in its place but will take time to grow before it is of a usable size. Decorative holiday ground lighting in Gazebo Park could be used instead. In addition, the lampposts east of Murdoch (which have power; lampposts west of Murdoch do not have power) could have a holiday lighting feature added. Now is the time to place an order so that it is received in time. Commission Members agreed it was important to pursue. Eric Peterson will put together some options and Members will choose at the next meeting. Business Development Commission (BDC) Update • BDC Business Coffee – The Coffee is set for May 17th at the Rec Center. The event is a follow-up to the Roundtable and survey held previously. The coffee will be in an informal format with stations looking for input from the business community while also providing an opportunity for businesses to connect. City/Council Update • City Council continues to work on the budget continues. Amendment work will start at the next Council meeting. All are encouraged to provide input via the Balancing Act software tool available on the City’s website - https://www.webstergrovesmo.gov/100/Budget • City Council continues their work on the Strategic Plan; a strong economic development goal is incorporated in the Plan. • The Arts Fair will take place the first weekend of June on the grounds of Eden Seminary.
