PARKING UPDATE • Moody Lot – 1st and 2nd reading at City Council was approved. Public Works is running with the project and completion will be soon. Signage for employee parking times of day will be the same as the employee lot on Gore. • 15-Minutes Parking Spots – Permanent ordinance has been approved. • Monitoring Employee Parking Lots – Commission members discussed possible ways to identify employee parking vs. others and how to monitor the use of the lots. One possible suggestion is for employers to provide a sign their employees could put in the window of their vehicle to help with identification. ROOFTOP LIGHTING UPDATE • Stribe Electric will be out in installing lights on the two buildings on N. Gore just north of the railroad tracks. • The goal is to have the next phase of the rooftop lighting will to continue moving out form the center of the District to its edges. DISTRICT BANNERS • Spring and Fall Banner Designs were moved to the January agenda. CITY UPDATE • Firenza Pizza and Ziggy’s Frozen Treats is under construction. • Balkan Treat Box is under construction. Their food truck will be participating in Civil Alchemy’s Fall Event on October 27th in Old Orchard. • The project for the former Gerber Chapel location has been approved and will move into the site plan phase. • The project at the former YMCA location is at the ARB; a new set of drawings will be forthcoming. The lawsuit is still ongoing. • The project at the former Auto Beauty location is moving forward; they have a demo permit for the inside. • City Council approved definitions, uses, and procedures in the zone code amendments. Currently working two new code changes around performance standards, such as sound decimal levers, and hazards in commercial zoning. Amendment changes are in the works surrounding home occupation businesses, kennels, ARB procedures, historic preservation, and tree preservation. • City Staff is looking at options to address commercial-type group homes; current state law allows a single-family residence can be a group home. • Rolling Ridge Project – Rolling Ridge has submitted additional information, but not all that was requested. If the outstanding information, such as traffic and parking study, elevations, stream buffer, and flooding, is received by November 16th, they will go before the December 10th Planning Commission meeting.
