unanimously approved.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES PERMIT
• Euclid Records Tent Sale the 1st Sunday of the month May thru September, 10AM to 5PM.
The parking garage will remain open. A section of the alley behind Euclid Records will be
closed. Commission members would like to get input from those Gore businesses that
would be directly affected by the partial closure of the alley. The event should bring people
into the District.
DISTRICT BANNERS
• Mara Perry shared with Commission Members swatches of several “fall” colors that could be
used for the new fall banner. The orange color will not work as printing on one side can be
seen from the other. A darker color will need to be used and the design will have to be
adjusted accordingly. The design of the banner may require 4 colors instead of 3 which will
increase the price by $6 a banner.
MOTION: Joe Rath made a motion to approve the use of the rust color for the fall design, the
motion was seconded by Mark Hinkle and unanimously approved.
MOTION: Joe Rath made a motion to approve the price increase needed for a 4-color banner
design, the motion was seconded by Mark Hinkle and unanimously approved.
EMPLOYEE PARKING
• Moody Parking Lot – The new employee parking lot on Moody has been up and running.
Some complaints have been received from individuals who can no longer park there; the lot
is privately owned and they were evidently unaware they had been parking there illegally. A
discussion was held whether some way to identify employee cars parking in the lot is
needed.
• Gore Parking Lot – Informational Item: The business located next door to the Gore
Employee Parking Lot is selling the property.
• Both Employee Parking Lots are actively being used and at times are at more than 100%
capacity.
CITY UPDATE
• Guerrilla Street Food is going into the former location of Tropical Moose/Crimson Petal.
• Blue Dahlia is going into a portion of the former ScholarShop location; a nail salon will go
into the other portion.
• Story Seven is going into the former HooPLa location.
• Permits are in for the project at the former Auto Beauty location; parking study still needed.
• Reliance Bank in Yorkshire Plaza is becoming Simmons Bank.
• Plans for Regions Bank at the former Gerber Chapel location are in; plans for the associated
retail space at that location have not yet received.
• Demo permits for the YMCA building are expected soon.
• Ever Love adult day care is going into the vacant building on Watson next to the Lawn
Equipment Company and a medical office from Clayton will take its former space in the
Crossroads District.
• Chase Bank is going into the former Massage Envy location; they will have inside ATM’s.
• Plan Commission is working on Home Occupation amendments; have looked at what other
cities are currently doing and have received a lot of feedback from both home-based and
brick-and-mortar businesses, input continues. Changes still have to pass the Plan
Commission prior to going before City Council.
