Webster Town Board December 19, 2024 A regular meeting of the Webster Town Board was called to order by Supervisor Flaherty at 7:30 p.m. at the Webster Town Board Meeting Room, 1002 Ridge Road, Webster, New York, with the following officials present: Supervisor ................................................................................ Art Petrone *** Town Attorney Charles Genese led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. *** Supervisor Flaherty invited Charles Genese, Town Attorney and his family to come forward to the podium. Supervisor Flaherty read the following proclamation. Proclamation for Outstanding Public Service Presented to Charles Genese WHEREAS, Charles Genese is retiring in December 2024 after twenty nine years of dedicated service to the Town of Webster; and WHEREAS, Charlie was on the staff of the Legal Aid Society in Rochester from September 1972-November 1976. He was the Assistant Attorney General in the Rochester Regional Office of the New Yor State Department of Law from November 1976-June 1978. Charlie then became employed by the County of Monroe in various titles and in 1988 became the Deputy County Attorney. Charlie began working for the Town of Webster on January 1, 1990, as a Zoning Board Member. On August 6, 1998, he was appointed Town Attorney and has been in this position until his retirement; and WHEREAS, Charlie’s comprehension of the many projects through the years and his institutional knowledge have been invaluable to all the staff and the Town of Webster; and WHEREAS, Charlie’s compassion for people is overflowing and can be seen in his various positions, including Counsel to the Monroe County Children’s Center and Social Services Counsel, and Pro Bono work he has done for the Just Cause Organization since 1998; and 1 12-19-2024  Webster Town Board WHEREAS, Charlie served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. We thank him for his service to our country; and WHEREAS, Charlie’s long and accomplished career in public service has been supported by his wife Barbara, and their two children, Amanda and Charles. He has served not only as Town Attorney, but also as a trusted advisor and true friend to all. Charlie’s tireless work and commitment to the Town of Webster have not gone unnoticed; his engaging laughter and kind smile will be remembered fondly as he retires. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That on the occasion of Charles Genese’s retirement, as the Supervisor of the Town of Webster, on behalf of the Webster Town Board and the entire Webster Community, we extend our sincerest wishes to Charlie for a long, happy and healthy retirement. It is my honor to pronounce December 20, 2024, as Charles Genese Day in the Town of Webster. December 19, 2024 Thomas J. Flaherty, Town Supervisor Charles Genese expressed his gratitude and that it has been a blessing to him to work with everyone over the years. He is grateful for the opportunity to work with a terrific group of individuals, three different Town Supervisors and that the Town is very well governed and administered by talented, hardworking and incorruptible individuals. *** The meeting was open to the floor for public comment.
