IV. Board Comments
Vice chair Whitlow stated he was disturbed to hear Mr. Schofield say more
taxes are generated from Olympia than in the Equestrian Preserve Area due to
agricultural classifications. He stated he has a feeling that there are people in
Wellington who would like to see Olympia stretch from State Road 441 to the
Loxahatchee Wildlife Preserve. Vice chair Whitlow said the Equestrian
Preserve Committee needs to be mindful that it is their job to prevent that sort
of thing from happening.
Vice chair Whitlow also stated the North American Riders Group (NARG)
dropped their rating of the Show Grounds from a 3 or 4 to a 15 and had very
negative comments regarding overcrowding and traffic.
Mr. Meigs commented on Village Attorney Laurie Cohen's memo regarding a
legal opinion for Charter Question No. 3. He said he wanted the committee

members to have a copy because the memo was clear and self-explanatory
and he is sure they have all been asked to explain Charter Question No. 3.
