I CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 3:30pm.
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mr. Trager led the Pledge of Allegiance.
III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Ms. Kastner made a motion to approve the agenda and Mr. Soto gave the
second. The agenda was approved as presented.
IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ms. Kastner made a motion to approve the minutes and Ms. Lascola gave the
second. The minutes were approved as written.
V. PRESENTATION
Meridith Tuckwood gave an update on programs and events. She explained
that the senior newsletter was being well received but that some residents in
Village Walk were not receiving it. She is working with the Post Office to
resolve. Ms. Tuckwood announced that 60 seniors were trained in CPR in
February.
Ms. Tuckwood announce upcoming events including the next Good for You
seminar scheduled for March 16th and the next Senior Symposium scheduled
for April 25th. She also noted that the Matter of Balance and iphone/ipad and
android classes are all coming in March.
Mr. Trager asked if it would be possible to get Windows 10 training and Ms.
Tuckwood said she would look into it.
VI. OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Trager informed the committee that this workshop will be utilized as a
focus group to help establish a goal oriented vision under the direction of this

committee. They will study and develop a plan for the implementation of a
volunteering mentoring program for the school year 2018 and beyond. As Mr.
Trager and Mrs. Edwards talked they want to be able to utilize this committee
to be able to help them start this pilot program for mentoring.
Ms. Edwards suggests that someone from the committee go ahead and make a
motion to request that staff coordinate a joint session between the Senior
Advisory Committee and Education Committee. Ms. McCue makes a motion
that they set up a date and have a joint session with the Education Committee
and Jose seconds the motion. Ms. Edwards will be contacting everyone to set
a date for the joint meeting.
After discussing the mentoring program the Senior Advisory Committee came
up with a few ways to get the volunteer opportunities out to the seniors like
e-mail, newsletters and contacting Senior HOA's.
Ms. Edwards will take this transportation issue to the administration and see
what they can come up with to solve this problem
Ms. Kastner handed out some ideas of hers on the Volunteer Opportunities.

Ms. Tuckwood mentioned that Ms. McCue had attended a Caregive seminar
recently and there may be opportunities for other members to attend events in
the future.
Mr. Soto said there is a similar event coming up next week and can forward the
information.
Mr. Trager asked that Ms. Tuckwood be sure to inform the members of events
in the future.

Ms. Kasnter made a motion to adjourn and Mr. Nebb gave the second. The
meeting was adjourned at 4:35pm
