City of West Allis Meeting Minutes Block Grant Committee Thursday, September 12, 2019 6:00 PM City Hall, Room 128 7525 W. Greenfield Ave. REGULAR MEETING A. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Ms. Strasser, Vice Chair at 6:00 p.m. B. ROLL CALL Present 12 - Ms. Dawn Groshek, Ms. Chris Porterfield, Ms. Caroline Dlouhy, Ms. Nicole Brinkley, Ms. Graciela Hernandez, Ms. Alissa Olstad, Mr. Justin Haut, Mr. Michael Plicka, Mr. Steven Hook, Ms. Marcia Lawson, Ms. Shelly Strasser, and Ald. Vincent Vitale Excused 2- Ms. Jessica Lisinski, and Ald. Michael May Others Attending Luke Radomski, Community Development Supervisor; Patrick Schloss, Community Development Manager; and John Stibal, Director of Development C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. 19-0562 Approval of minutes of the August 29, 2019 meeting Attachments: 8-29-19 (draft) Minutes A motion was made by Ald. Vitale, seconded by Ald. May, that the minutes of the August 29, 2019 meeting be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 12 - Ms. Groshek, Ms. Porterfield, Ms. Dlouhy, Ms. Brinkley, Ms. Hernandez, Ms. Olstad, Mr. Haut, Mr. Plicka, Mr. Hook, Ms. Lawson, Ms. Strasser, and Ald. Vitale No: 0 D. PUBLIC HEARING 2. 19-0565 Public Hearing on the consideration of requests for projects for the FY 2020 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Annual Action Plan Attachments: Public Hearing Notice The Public Hearing notice was read. There were no members of the public present to ask questions or voice their views. E. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS 3. 19-0563 Consideration of requests for projects for the FY 2020 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Annual Action Plan Mr. Radomski provided a brief overview of the 2020 CDBG budget proposal for Program Administration, Public Service Funding Requests, Housing Rehabilitation Funding Requests and Economic Development Funding Requests. Discussion ensued between Staff and Committee members regarding the various project funding requests . Vitale, that this matter was Approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 12 - Ms. Groshek, Ms. Porterfield, Ms. Dlouhy, Ms. Brinkley, Ms. Hernandez, Ms. Olstad, Mr. Haut, Mr. Plicka, Mr. Hook, Ms. Lawson, Ms. Strasser, and Ald. Vitale No: 0 F. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Mr. Plicka, seconded by Ald. Vitale to adjourn the meeting at 6:20 p.m. The motion carried unanimously. All meetings of the {bdName} are public meetings. In order for the general public to make comments at the committee meetings, the individual(s) must be scheduled (as an appearance) with the chair of the committee or the appropriate staff contact; otherwise, the meeting of the committee is a working session for the committee itself, and discussion by those in attendance is limited to committee members, the mayor, other alderpersons, staff and others that may be a party to the matter being discussed. NON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT The City of West Allis does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, religion, age, marital or veterans' status, sex, national origin, disability or any other legally protected status in the admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, its services, programs or activities. LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY STATEMENT It is the policy of the City of West Allis to provide language access services to populations of persons with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) who are eligible to be served or likely to be directly affected by our programs.
