City of West Allis Meeting Minutes Commission on Aging Monday, June 28, 2021 3:45 PM Senior Center 7001 W. National Ave. REGULAR MEETING A. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Commissioner Wikenhauser at 3:45 p.m. B ROLL CALL Present 6- Mr. David Rymaszewski, Ms. Deborah Tiegs, Ms. Linda Timm, Ms. Patricia Wikenhauser, Mr. John Zentgraf, and Ms. Diane Langford Excused 2- Ms. Margee Maydak, and Ms. Heather Uzowulu Others present: Sharon Roy C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 21-0269 Minutes (draft) of the meeting of May 24, 2021 Attachments: Commission on Aging Minutes 5-24-2021 A motion was made by Commissioner Tiegs, seconded by Commissioner Langford to approve the minutes of the meeting of May 24, 2021. D. MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION/ACTION 21-0270 Correspondence and Communication: Milwaukee County Transit will be scheduling a program at the Senior Center and will schedule a bus ride in the fall. 21-0271 Mission Statement The current Mission Statement was complete and no revisions are needed. The West Allis Senior Center’s goals are to promote a healthy quality of life for older adults, advocate for vital services, offer lifelong learning activities, and provide opportunities to develop meaningful fellowship. 21-0272 Board of Health member Ms. Roy will contact Mr. Leischow if possible to have one of the Commissioners on Aging on the Board of Health. City of West Allis Page 1 Printed on 11/1/2021 Commission on Aging Meeting Minutes June 28, 2021 21-0273 Report of the Senior Center meeting with the Mayor and the Mayors Senior Services Working Group Commissioner Tiegs, Wikenhauser and Zentgraf informed on meetings. The meeting with the Mayor had 17 seniors, discussed SWOT analysis and the state’s expenditure restraint program, and future of the Senior Center. The Mayor’s Senior Services Working Group discussed the SWOT analysis and will schedule the Development Department and prospective Developers to tour the building to see how the space is currently utilized. 21-0274 Discussion of Strategic Planning for West Allis Senior Center: Nothing active since updating SWOT. 21-0275 Report on Community Projects Stockbox Program Update - 251 Extras, 2 pkg. of pork patties, 2 small hams, case of peaches, 2 pkg. red grapes, Eras Senior Network - Heather will report next month. 21-0276 Staff Report: Discussed the effectiveness of our drive-thru lunch program and upcoming programs. E. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m. with the next scheduled meeting to be held on August 23, 2021. All meetings of the {bdName} are public meetings.
