ROLL CALL Present 10 - Barczak, Czaplewski, Dobrowski, Kopplin, Lajsic, Narlock, Reinke, Sengstock, Vitale, and Weigel C. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ald. Narlock. Presentation Mayor Bell requested Council President Sengstock preside as Chair. Council President Sengstock described the porch contest and Mayor Bell began the presentation. Mayor Bell announced the Porch Contest winners for 2005. She invited the winners to receive their awards and recognition as follows: Most Inviting - Gerald and Jane Corbett, 2374 S. 65 St. Most Homey - Susan Karass, 1204 S. 72 St. Most Colorful - Becher Apartments - Esther Komasa, Manager, with Bob and Nick Most Patriotic - Elizabeth Remmel, 2541 S. 76 St. Most Cozy - Andrew and Valarie Medved, 9612 W. Lincoln Ave. Most Distinctive - Laura Apkarian, 804 S. 112 St. Mayor Bell thanked the participants for decorating their porches. Mayor Bell presiding. D. PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. 2005-0633 Special Use Application for a vehicle dealership expansion to 11330 W. Lincoln Ave. for CU Fleet, an existing business located at 2222 S. 114 St. (Tax Key No. 481-9991-011). Explanation of the proposed Special Use by John Stibal, Director of Development. Explanation of the proposed operating plan by Patrick Schloss, Community Development Manager. Appearances: Brian Preiss, Executive Director, Downtown West Allis Business Improvement District, 7231 W. Greenfield Ave., thanked Patrick Schloss for his involvement. He commented on reduced funding and increased assessments in order to offer incentives to the downtown businesses. E. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION Brian Preiss, Executive Director, Downtown West Allis Business Improvement District, 7231 W. Greenfield Ave., reported on the 15th Annual Classic Car Show. He provided a status update regarding the downtown including facades, recent purchases, vacancies and signs. Gerise LaSpisa, President, West Allis-West Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce, 7149 W. Greenfield Ave., commented on the Annual Classic Car Show. She announced the After 5 at West Park Place and the upcoming Gala on November 5th. H. Reinke announced the level 3 rating for the Health Department which will allow for seeking extra money and funding in 2006. She congratulated Terry Brandenburg and his staff and all others who helped in this achievement. L.
