Rosedale Ave., displayed photographs, and commented on truck traffic, school responsibility and the street being used as a service drive. Manitoba St., questioned assessment figures, and inquired about the approach. Scott O'Grosky, 9619 W. Manitoba St., addressed the street needing work, but opposed the interest rate on the payment plan. E. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION Robin Shaffer, 1029 S. 75 St., expressed her concerns regarding the fatal stabbing on S. 74 St. and W. Washington St. She requested a special meeting with Transitional Living Services (TLS), government officials and community residents to address the neighborhood's concerns and the operations of TLS. Ms. Shaffer listed the concerns she would like to see discussed including supervision and monitoring of activity, licensing and inspections, zoning, type of facility, resident evaluation and criteria for living independently, alcohol use, frequency of ambulance use, short visits, and community safety. Paul, 1039 S. 75 St., addressed his concerns regarding the nearby homicide and pedophiles, and commented on his neighbor and his neighbor's pit bull. Mary McCue-Adams, 1040 S. 75 St., addressed the transitional living center at S. 74 St. and W. Washington St. She commented on safety issues, and garbage in the area. She thanked Mayor Devine for his assistance. Pati Concha, 1028 S. 75 St., addressed her concerns regarding the fatal stabbing on S. 74 St. and W. Washington St. She commented on the capability of residents handling responsibility. She stated that the event was disturbing to the neighbors, and addressed neighborhood safety. Robert Braun, 2160 S. 86 St., commented on government cooperation, police protection, religious involvement, and the Centennial Plaza. Maureen Russell, 1019 S. 75 St., commented on her neighborhood and the neighborhood watch program. She addressed the homicide and crime in the area. She requested that the apartments be regulated, the individuals be supervised, and the need for police presence. Chad Webber, 1497 S. 94 St., addressed the recommendation by the License & Health Committee to deny his bartending license. Robert Wrenn, 1040 S. 70 St., CEO of TLS, addressed the concerns of the community residents. He commented on the staff and emergency response to the incident, and addressed the situation as an isolated incident. He described the agency as non-profit and community based. He said that their programs are licensed and regulated. Apartments are available to those who suffer from mental illness, and the apartments provide quality, affordable and decent housing. He described the different operations of TLS. Mr. Wrenn assured the neighbors and the Common Council that he will listen and respond to the concerns brought to his attention. Pati Concha, 1028 S. 75 St., requested supervision of the residents at the transitional living center at S. 74 St. and W. Washington St. Robin Shaffer, 1029 S. 75 St., inquired about background checks, and addressed supervision of the residents at the transitional living center at S. 74 St. and W. Washington St. Trinity Melton, 1043 S. 75 St., addressed independent living, medication distribution, requested supervision of the residents at the transitional living center at S. 74 St. and W. Jody Rymaszewski, 901 S. 75 St., requested supervision of the residents at the transitional living center at S. 74 St. and W. Washington St. and having a contact person at the building. Barb Kronenburg, 1226 S. 75 St., commented on mental illness and requested the clients who live at the apartment building not be railroaded. She commented on crime happening anywhere and being careful of additional action taken. Dan Schaffer, 1029 S. 75 St., requested a special meeting regarding the homicide. He addressed the process as ongoing with the neighborhood and the business' operations. F. ANNOUNCEMENT OF RECESS MEETINGS OF STANDING COMMITTEES Mayor Devine announced that the following Committees would meet during recess: Administration & Finance, Public Works, Safety & Development, License & Health, and Advisory. G. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS Mayor's Report Mayor Devine attended the meeting with the Department of Transportation regarding the zoo interchange project; participated in the rededication of the Honey Creek Log School and thanked the Women's Club for their assistance and donation of the flag pole; and commented on the Memorial Day Parade in which he invited the family of Private Jason Lemke to walk in the parade and take part in the ceremony at Veteran's Park. Weigel announced West Allis Ala Carte and the ribbon cutting for the Centennial Plaza, and commented on the public information meeting relative to the pedestrian and bicycle master plan process with the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin.
