MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Devine commented on the next “Zak Attack” which is a program started by nine year old Morgan Zak in an effort to clean up the city. He announced the renaming of the Police Department’s “Crime Prevention Division” to the “Community Service Bureau”. The Community Services Bureau is now located at the Police Satellite Station located at 6900 W. National Avenue. The Mayor introduced the “Business First Guide”, developed by Patrick Schloss and the Development Department, which will act as a one stop shop business friendly guide for those people wanting to open up a business in the City of West Allis. He also announced the 48th Annual Historical Society Banquet to be held October 20, 2014 with the main speaker, Austin Frederick, who will present the “History of Allis Chalmers Tractors”. Tickets for this event are available by calling the West Allis Historical Society at 414-541-6970. Mayor Devine recognized and congratulated City of West Allis resident, Jordan Plantiko, who competed in the International Power Lifting competition in Orshaza, Hungary and became the World Champion Power Lifter in the 93 kg Sub-Junior division. Lastly, he announced the closing on the hotel, Hampton Inn and Suites, which is to break ground within a month and expects to open in July of 2015. Hampton Inn and Suites will be a 101 room hotel with 30-40 full-time jobs and another 30-40 part-time jobs. H. ALDERPERSON'S REPORT None. I. In order for the general public to make comments at the committee meetings, the individual(s) must be scheduled (as an appearance) with the chair of the committee or the appropriate staff contact; otherwise, the meeting of the committee is a working session for the committee itself, and discussion by those in attendance is limited to committee members, the mayor, other alderpersons, staff and others that may be a party to the matter being discussed.
