Steve Stelter, 7128 W. Arthur Avenue, requested a one-year postponement of the project for financial reasons and asked about the placement of street lighting. Hermine Couturier, 2801 S. 72 Street, asked about bump outs and if there are examples of those in the area, and asked about the duration and beginning of the project. Donald Ernst, 2911 S. 72 Street, asked about the locations, benefits and effects of the bump outs on the street. Denise Tanzilo, 2560 S. 72 Street, commented on affordability, and asked for more time to get funds together, repairs due to City work, reported on the horrible work, and how old stuff is holding up better. Ms. Tanzilo commented on percentage of payment and service charges. Ms. Tanzilo asked about the unique benefit and addressed the speed limit and the Senior Center. Ms. Tanzilo stated her street doesn’t look that bad and asked about analysis of the project and a reduced plan. Ms. Tanzilo commented on assessor photos from the website and asked if taxpayers are heard. Alfred Couturier, 2801 S. 72 Street, asked about if fly ash in the concrete will cause a cancer-causing dust, the thickness of the concrete, how far does the grinding go into the ground. Mr. Couturier commented on the spring thaw and asked about the use of concrete, the bump outs, when the laterals will be installed, and the width of the street. Jackie Korneli, 2777 S. 72 Street, asked if road repairs change the assessed value to the property or if the taxes would increase. Paul Merkel, 2850 S. 72 Street, commented on the street lighting, asked about signage or reflective paint for the bump outs, and commented on the laterals and the need for it. Alex Caudill, 2766 S. 72 Street, commented on his lack of confidence in the city after listening to the constituents and addressed the ability to make wide turns and speeding. Public Hearing Held. E. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION Robert Braun, 2160 S. 86 Street, commented on same sex marriage, addressed the designation of bathrooms, and announced a meeting in South Milwaukee. Scott Espeseth, 6300 W. Beloit Road, announced the West Allis Cheese & Sausage Customer Appreciation event. Violet Braun, 2160 S. 86 Street, commented on how she is proud to be an American, the Constitution is under attack, do not advance Sharia Law, assimilate into American culture. F. G. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Devine commented on Crime Stoppers fundraiser and announced the West Allis Ala Carte event. H. ALDERPERSON'S REPORT Ald. Barczak commented on pre-West Allis Ala Carte. Ald. Weigel announced Blood Drive on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Ald. Vitale addressed the public hearings on street improvements. Ald. Vitale stressed the infra-structures cannot be left to decay and explained where the tax dollars go. May announced the DOT meeting regarding Highway 100 alternatives and the redesign meeting of National Avenue. Ald. Reinke reported on the Christmas Parade fundraiser. Ald. Reinke announced the Celebrations Committee will be delivering gifts to the Veterans at VA prior to Memorial Day, and thanked staff and children at the SAFE programs at Walker Elementary School and Longfellow Elementary School who wrote letters and drew pictures for the Veterans.
