PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ald. Vitale. D. PUBLIC HEARINGS None. E. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION Robert Braun, 2160 S. 86 Street, commented on same sex bathrooms; and a matter with the Police Department. Violet Braun, 2160 S. 86 Street, address the passing of Phyllis Schlafly, a woman who supported family rights. Ryan Roth, 2191 S. 91 Street, complimented those organizations who took part in Doors Open Milwaukee; and spoke about the branding of the City and the special use permit for the proposed auto store located at 71st and National. Mr. Roth commented on the City’s investment in the National Avenue Corridor to improve the city, and it is his opinion that an auto store works against improving the image of West Allis and feels the location is served with other efforts. ANNOUNCEMENT OF RECESS MEETINGS OF STANDING COMMITTEES Mayor Devine announced that the following Committees would meet during recess: Administration & Finance, Public Works, Safety & Development, License & Health, and Advisory. G. MAYOR'S REPORT Mayor Devine commented on Doors Open Milwaukee and complimented Shaun Mueller from the Development Department for his coordination and efforts; he announced Oktoberfest at the West Allis Farmer's Market and the 26th Annual Downtown Classic Car Show. Mayor Devine announced that the Community Development Department and Wangard Partners received the Real Estate Redevelopment and Reused Award at the 2nd annual Community and Economic Development Awards banquet for redeveloping the vacant former Yellow Freight Truck terminal site. H. ALDERPERSON'S REPORT Ald. Weigel announced an upcoming fundraiser for Chris Kegel, former owner of Kegel’s Inn. I.
