A. Call to Order
Ms. Suelzer called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
B. Roll Call
Present 5- Gloria Dohearty, Barbara Hart, Jody Rymaszewski, Elizabeth Suelzer, and Ray
Turner
Excused 4- Kari Southern, Michelle Wadewitz, Angelito Tenorio, and Adam Hengel
Others present: Rebecca Grill, City Administrator
Staff present: Michael Koszalka, Library Director, and Lisa VandenBoom, Library

Ms. Hart moved to approve the December 1, 2021 Library Board meeting minutes
as written. Second by Mr. Turner. Motion approved.

3. COVID-19 Update
In February the Children's Department will start in person storytime again.
4. City Consolidation Feasibility Study
Attachments: Barrientos WA Consolidated City Facility Proposal
Rebecca Grill, City Administrator, reported that there is no update, but more
information may be available for the February meeting.
H. New Business
5. MCFLS Update
A Wauwatosa representative, Monica Deluhery, has joined the MCFLS Board.
MCFLS will be initiating a Level Up Learning marketing campaign that will
spotlight Gale online courses.
6. Statement of Effectiveness for 2021 Library Annual Report

Mr. Koszalka was directed to create a statement of effectiveness that will be
voted on by the Library Board at the next meeting.
7. Trustee Essentials-Chapter 9-Managing the Library's Money

I. Library Director's Report
-Steven Piper has been hired as the Library's new part-time Cleaner. He will
work evenings Monday though Thursday.
-The Library participated in West Allis Winter Week with Night of Hygge II.
Around 80 people attended with 36 participating in a storytime.
-Sarah Lange, Adult Librarian, has submitted a proposal for the Library to
receive a Big Read grant offered through the National Endowment for the Arts.
-Emily Rutter, Adult and Circulation Services Supervisor, created a 2021 Library
Use Summary Report, included under Correspondence.
J. Adjournment
There being no further business, Ms. Hart moved to adjourn. Second by Ms.
Dohearty. Motion approved. The meeting was adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
