Call to Order Ms. Suelzer called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. B. Roll Call Present: Gloria Dohearty, Barbara Hart, Jody Rymaszewski, Ray Turner, Elizabeth Suelzer, and Michelle Wadewitz Excused: Adam Hengel and Angelito Tenorio Staff present: Michael Koszalka, Library Director, and Lisa VandenBoom, Library Manager Others present: Rebecca Grill, City Administrator C. Approval of Minutes 1. Library Board Meeting Minutes September 28, 2022 Attachments: Library Board Meeting Minutes September 28, 2022 Ms. Hart moved to approve the September 28, 2022 Library Board meeting minutes as written. Second by Mr. Turner. Motion approved. D. Statements by Citizens None. E. Terchak Fund Request-Repair/Replacement of Elevator Attachments: Terchak trust fund report October 2022 Quotes for elevator repair or replacement will be presented to the Library Board at the December meeting. 5. Request by Banned Patron for Reinstatement of Library Privileges Attachments: Mr. Mark Duzik Communications Mr. Mark Duzik October 2022 Communication Mr. Koszalka, Library Director, sent a letter to Mr. Dudzik. No response has been received. H. New Business 6. MCFLS Update MCFLS will soon be deploying dual authentication for it's staff email system. On November 9th, the online catalog will be down system wide for an upgrade. Patrons will still be able to checkout items. Visitor passes will be needed to access Internet computers. 7. West Allis Public Library Board Bylaws-Citizen Participation-Revision Attachments: West Allis Public Library Board Bylaws-Citizen Participation-Revision Ms. Hart moved to approve the West Allis Public Library Bylaws change as written. Second by Mr. Turner. Motion approved. 8. West Allis Public Library Public Records Notice Attachments: West Allis Public Library Public Records Notice Ms. Hart moved to approve the West Allis Public Library Records Notice. Second by Ms. Rymaszewski. Motion approved. 9. 2023 Library Holidays and Closings Attachments: Holidays and Closings 2023 Ms. Hart moved to approve the 2023 Library Holidays and Closings. Second by Mr. Turner. Motion approved. 10. November and December Meeting Dates The next Library Board meeting will take place Tuesday, December 6th at 7:00 p.m. 11. Library Director's Report -Kari Southern has resigned from the Library Board. -Mary Ruelle, former West Allis Public Library Director, has recently passed away. She worked at the Library from 1953-1991 and was director from 1981-1991. She was instrumental in getting the current building constructed. --Bridget Lee started as a part-time Library Assistant on October 10th. She is in the Library Science program at UW-Milwaukee and has extensive customer service experience. -On November 5th the Friends of the Library have scheduled a general meeting at 10:00 a.m. in the Constitution Room. -Andi Cloud, Ho-Chunk storyteller, will speak at the Library and present a mini-canoe craft at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12th. -Alderperson Angelito Tenorio has resigned from the Library Board. He is moving to Connecticut. The City is accepting applications to fill the vacant Common Council seat. J. Adjournment There being no further business, Ms. Hart moved to adjourn. Second by Mr. Turner. Motion approved.
