They were reminded it is illegal to over serve or serve someone already intoxicated. They were informed of the City's Compliance Check Programs and told to check identification. 94. 2015-0579 Summons and Complaint in the matter of the complaint against Bechers Corner Spot, LLC, Charline S. Hart, Agent, for the premises located at 2079 S. 69 St., d/b/a The Corner Spot (2015-2016 Class A Beer License no. 2199, Cigarette License no. 2230 and Food-Related Permits/Licenses). Liban. Appearance by Samantha M. Liban. Discussion ensued regarding Ms. Liban's police report. She was told to obey the laws for having a bartender license as well as her Driver's license. Ms. Liban was reminded to call the police for any signs of trouble and to be cooperative when they arrive. Ms. Liban was cautioned that a third OWI could result in suspension or revocation of her bartender's license. A motion was made by Ald. Haass, seconded by Ald. Weigel No: 0 104. 2015-0552 2015-2016 Class B Tavern License application no. 2237 of Vapor World, Inc., Viren Patel, Agent, d/b/a Vapor Bar, 7532 W. Oklahoma Avenue (new-nonexisting). Appearance by Viren B. Patel, Sunny Patel and Attorney Jeffrey Merrill. Discussion ensued regarding reasons for exceeding the Municipal Quota. Mr. Patel was informed that patrons cannot enter the retail store and use a connecting door to go into the tavern. He was told that there needs to be a separate entrance to the proposed tavern. Attorney Merrill asked if his client's application could be put on a waiting list. He was told that the City of West Allis does not do that. Attorney Merrill stated Mr. Patel would like to withdraw the application until something becomes available rather than be denied. He was advised to submit a letter of withdrawal to the Clerk's Office. This matter was Held. 105. 2015-0551 2015-2016 Class B Tavern License application no. 2238 of WA Cheese & Sausage Shoppe, Inc., Mark S. Lutz, Agent, d/b/a Ka-Bob’s Restaurant, 6801 & 6807 W. Becher Street (new-nonexisting). Attachments: FIRE communication 9-1-15 Appearance by Mark S. Lutz. Discussion ensued regarding the new restaurant Mr. Lutz is submitting the application for. Mr. Lutz was informed of the Municipal quota. It was suggested to Mr. Lutz to speak with the Development Department and provide a sample of the menu. This matter was Held. Surges, Agent, d/b/a Jack Rabbit Slims, for premises located at 8028 W. National Ave. (new-existing location). Appearance by Christopher D. Surges. Discussion ensued regarding the progress Mr. Surges is making on the remodeling and his expected opening date. Mr. Surges informed the Committee he is planning on opening in September. A motion was made by Ald. Weigel, seconded by Ald. Roadt, that this matter was Recommended for Approval subject to the necessary requirement(s). The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Ald. Weigel No: 0 107. 2015-0546 2015-2016 Class B Tavern License renewal application no. 784 of Big Dogs Sports Grill LLC, Gary Jackowski, Agent, d/b/a Big Dogs Sports Grill, premises located at 9427 W. Greenfield Avenue. Appearance by Karen Schoenfeld for Gary Jackowski. Ms. Schoenfeld told the Committee they are looking for a new location to move the license to or the current property owner may be interested in opening as an alcohol establishment. Ms. Merten informed the Committee if a business is not operating for thirty days it is subject to revocation. The Committee agreed to give Mr. Jackowski sixty days and told Ms. Schoenfeld to keep the Committee informed of their plans. This matter was Held. 109. 2015-0535 Police Department Report regarding June 28, 2015 Tobacco Compliance Check involving fourteen (14) West Allis businesses, resulting with four (4) selling tobacco to an underage person without requesting identification (Waukesha Petroleum, Inc., Intisar Hasan, Agent, d/b/a Mini Mart 100, premises located at 1112 S. 108 St.). Ms. Bassi stated she is Mr. Singh's wife and is now the agent listed on the Cigarette License. Discussion ensued regarding the compliance check. Ms. Ewert did not contact the Clerk's Office. The Committee requested she be ordered to appear at the next scheduled License & Health meeting. Walker St. Sponsors: Safety & Development Committee Appearance by Eric G. Millard. Discussion ensued regarding the plans for the extension of premise to include serving lunch. Mr. Millard stated he was planning a horseshoe gaming area and would gate the whole area off at 9:00 p.m. The Committee asked to hold this item until August 25, 2015. This matter was Held. 51. 2015-0508 Special Use Permit for a proposed extension of premise at Guzzler’s Sports Lounge, an existing business located at 7408 W. Walker St. See legislative file no. R-2015-0152. This matter was Held. 97. 2015-0525 Police Department Report involving Jonny Hammers, 6300 W. Lincoln Ave., Jonny Hammers, LLC, Jon Robert Cervantes, Agent, Incident Date: June 4, 2015. Appearance by Jon Robert Cervantes and Marie Cervantes. Discussion ensued regarding the police report and the cooperation level of Ms. Cervantes. Mr. and Ms. Cervantes were reminded to be courteous and helpful with the police and to keep an employee roster at the establishment. A motion was made by Ald. Haass, seconded by Ald. Weigel, that this matter was Recommended to be Placed on File. The motion carriedunanimously. 108. 2015-0547 2015-2016 Class B Tavern License renewal application no. 862 of Rupena’s, Inc., Maria Karczewski, Agent, d/b/a Rupena’s Summit Café, premises located at 6737 W. Washington St. Appearance by Maria E. Karczewski. Discussion ensued regarding Ms. Karczewski's plans for transferring the license to the location of S. 76 St and W. Beloit Rd. The Committee agreed to hold this application for sixty days, at which time Ms. Karczewski would appear with a progress update. This matter was Held. F. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Ald.
