NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS 2. 2017-0617 Police Department Report involving Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill, 2865 S. 108 St., Apple Hospitality Group, LLC, Geoff S. Krueger, Agent, Incident Date: August 16, 2017. Appearance by Geoff S. Krueger. Discussion ensued regarding the posting of the liquor license for the current year. It was suggested the license be posted in public view. A motion was made by Ald. Weigel, seconded by Ald. Haass, that this matter was Recommended to be Placed on File. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. Roadt, Ald. Haass, Ald. May, and Ald. Weigel No: 0 3. 2017-0614 Police Department Report involving Las Palmas, 1901 S. 60 St., of ARH Enterprises, LLC, Hugo J. Juarez, Agent, Incident Date: August 10, 2017. Appearance by Hugo J. Juarez and Antonio Cayetano Rivera. Discussion ensued regarding Las Palmas not having a 2017-2018 Class B Tavern License posted due to outstanding Building Inspections matters. A motion was made by Ald. May, seconded by Ald. Roadt, that this matter was Recommended to be Placed on File. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. Roadt, Ald. Haass, Ald. May, and Ald. Weigel No: 0 4. 2017-0516 Police Department Report involving Bottoms Up, 7127 W. National Avenue, of BFS WI LLC, Charles Hastings, Agent, Incident Date: July 1, 2017. Second nonappearance of Charles Hastings. Mr. Hastings did not contact the Clerk's Office. This matter was Referred for Summons and Complaint on a Block Vote to the City Attorney. 5. 2017-0621 Police Department Report involving Bottoms Up, 7127 W. National Avenue, of BFS WI LLC, Charles Hastings, Agent, Incident Date: August 25, 2017. Nonappearance of Charles Hastings. Mr. Hastings did not contact the Clerk's Office. This matter was Referred for Summons and Complaint on a Block Vote to the City Attorney. Passed The Block Vote A motion was made by Ald. Roadt, seconded by Ald. May, to approve all the actions on the preceding items on a Block Vote. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. Roadt, Ald. Haass, Ald. May, and Ald. (Majdecki Foods, Inc., Erica R. Hayes, Agent, d/b/a Piggly Wiggly Supermarket #070, for the premises located at 10282 W. National Avenue; and Jas & Sant Corporation, Talwinder Soos, Agent, d/b/a County Beer & Liquor, for the premises located at 979 S. 60 Street). Appearance by Erica R. Hayes and Talwinder Soos. Discussion ensued regarding the police report. A motion was made by Ald. Weigel, seconded by Ald. May, that this matter was Recommended to be Placed on File. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. Roadt, Ald. Haass, Ald. May, and Ald. Weigel No: 0 7. 2017-0579 2017-2018 Combination Class A Liquor License application no. 2504 of Aldi Inc. (Wisconsin), Shauna B. Carter, Agent, d/b/a Aldi #10, for premises located at 1712 S. 108 Street (new-nonexisting location). Attachments: AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATIONS - Aldi.License Appearance by Shauna B. Carter and Robert Merkl. Mr. Merkl informed the Committee of the location for the sale of the alcohol on a floor plan and that they intended to sell beer and wine. Ald. May asked to have this matter held until the Public Hearing on October 3, 2017 and stated that Ms. Carter would not need to appear. This matter was Held. 8. 2017-0554 2017-2018 Class B Tavern License application no. 2500 of Kelly Sendejo, d/b/a t.b.d., for premises located at 6404 W. National Ave. (new-nonexisting location). Attachments: AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATIONS - 6404 W National Ave Appearance by Kelly Sendejo. Discussion ensued regarding opening the business within thirty (30) days or reappearing before the License & Health Committee with an explanation. A motion was made by Ald. Weigel, seconded by Ald. May, that this matter was Recommended for Approval subject to the necessary requirement(s). The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. Roadt, Ald. Haass, Ald. May, and Ald. Jesion, Agent, d/b/a The 6500 Bar LLC, for premises located at 6500 W. Greenfield Avenue (new-nonexisting location). Appearance by Susan C. Jesion. Ms. Jesion told the Committee she was still actively looking to sell or lease the business and property. Ms. Jesion stated she would open the business and hire a manager if she needed to. Discussion ensued the length of time this matter could be held for and that the Committee should take action. Ms. Jesion was asked to set up appointments for inspections, to have a plan for the business to open, install surveillance cameras and reappear in thirty (30) days at the next regular License & Health Committee meeting. This matter was Held. 10. 2017-0359 2016-2017 Class B Tavern License application no. 2471 of The 6500 Bar LLC, Susan C. Jesion, Agent, d/b/a The 6500 Bar LLC, for premises located at 6500 W. Greenfield Avenue (new-nonexisting location). See legislative file no. 2017-0360. This matter was Held. 11. 2017-0549 2017-2018 Operator’s License (bartender/sales clerk) application no. 18-283 of Rupinder K. Randhawa. Appearance by Rupinder K. Randhawa. Discussion ensued regarding Ms. Rupinder's police report and incomplete application. Ms. Randhawa stated that the other violations she did not list were violations of her employees when she was the license holder of the business, but she received a ticket also. Ms. Randhawa stated she has a Milwaukee Operator's License and only helps out at West Allis Liquor and Tobacco when no other employee is available. A motion was made by Ald. Weigel, seconded by Ald. Roadt, that this matter was Recommended for Denial based on an incomplete aplication and other alcohol related violations. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. Roadt, Ald. Haass, Ald. May, and Ald. Weigel No: 0 12. 2017-0550 2017-2019 Operator’s License (bartender/sales clerk) application no. 19-324 of Savanna P. Henderson. Nonappearance of Savanna P. Henderson. Ms. Henderson called the Clerk's Office. The Committee requested she be ordered to appear at the next scheduled License & Health meeting. This matter was Held. Davis. Appearance by Todd W. Davis. Discussion ensued regarding Mr. Davis' police report. Mr. Davis was informed that this license would allow him to serve alcohol as well as sell. Mr. Davis stated he would be working at CVS Pharmacy selling rather than serving. The Committee reminded Mr. Davis that it is illegal to sell or serve to an intoxicated customer. The Committee cautioned Mr. Davis that a third DUI could result in revocation of his license. A motion was made by Ald. Roadt, seconded by Ald. Weigel, that this matter was Recommended For Approval. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. Roadt, Ald. Haass, Ald. May, and Ald. Weigel No: 0 14. 2017-0552 2017-2019 Operator’s License (bartender/sales clerk) application no. 19-328 of Amanda M. Lindner. Appearance by Amanda M. Lindner. Discussion ensued regarding Ms. Lindner's police report. Ald. Haass commented on Ms. Lindner's failure to obey the law and the number of driving violations. Ms. Lindner explained the reason for the violations. A motion was made by Ald. Haass, seconded by Ald. Weigel to deny based on the police report. The motion failed by the following vote: Aye: 1 - Ald. Haass No: 4 - Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. May, Ald. Roadt, and Ald. Weigel A motion was made by Ald. May, seconded by Ald. Roadt, that this matter was Recommended For Approval. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Ald. Czaplewski, Ald. Roadt, Ald. May, and Ald. Weigel No: 1- Ald. Haass E.
