1. 2017-0646 Discussion regarding Advanced Disposal Contract.
The Director of Public Works /City Engineer presented the proposal from the City’s current
garbage contractor to the Board members. The main issues were the needed maintenance work
that Advanced would perform at the transfer station, along with the yearly tonnage fees and ten
year extension period. The Board agreed with the direction the Director of Public Works/City
Engineer was taking and directed that continued negotiations be held with Advanced Disposal
with the goal of extending the contract.
This matter was Discussed.
2. 2017-0647 Discussion regarding an update of the recycling program.
The Board was pleasantly surprised with the increase in recycling tonnage so far. The City has

rebate was almost $9,000 to the City from John’s Disposal. The Board agreed that the start-up of
the new program has been successful.
