CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Alderperson Lajsic at 6:00 p.m. B. ROLL CALL Present 4- Ald. Lajsic, Ald. Probst, Ald. May, and Ald. Reinke Excused 1- Ald. C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2015-0565 Minutes (draft) of the Recess meetings of February 17, 2015, March 3, 2015, March 17, 2015, April 7, 2015, April 21, 2015, May 5, 2015, May 19, 2015, June 2, 2015, June 16, 2015, July 7, 2015, the Special Recess meetings of May 5, 2015, July 7, 2015 and the Special meetings of February 9, 2015, June 3, 2015 and June 29, 2015. A motion was made by Ald. Reinke, seconded by Ald. Probst, that this matter was Approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Ald. Lajsic, Ald. Probst, Ald. May, and Ald. Reinke No: 0 D. NEW AND PREVIOUS MATTERS 2015-0561 Discussion/action relative to the status of the Summons and Complaint in the matter of the Complaint against John Scherff, d/b/a Central Wastewater Treatment of Wisconsin, LLC, located at 360 S. Curtis Rd., regarding their Special Use Permit. Discussion ensued and no action was taken. E. CONSIDERATION RELATIVE TO REPORT ON REDEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES Staff reported on Redevelopment Initiatives within the City. CLOSED SESSION At 6:32 p.m., Chair Lajsic stated it was the intention of the Committee to vote on a motion to convene in closed session at said time and in Room 118 for discussion/action relative to: a. Discussion/action relative to negotiations for acquisition of the former Milwaukee Ductile Iron properties located within the 68th & Mitchell Redevelopment Area. b. Discussion/action relative to negotiations with various developers for the Six Points/Farmers Market Redevelopment Area. c. Discussion/action relative to negotiations with various developers for the 84th & Greenfield Redevelopment Area. A closed session for the above purpose is authorized pursuant to the provisions of Wis. Stats. Section 19.85(1)(a) and (g), which authorizes a governmental body, upon motion duly made and carried, to meet in closed session to deliberate concerning a case which was the subject of any judicial or quasi judicial trial or hearing before that governmental body; and to confer with legal counsel for the governmental body who is rendering oral in which it is or is likely to become involved. A motion was made by Ald. Probst, seconded by Ald. Reinke, to convene in closed session in Room 118 at 6:32 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Ald. Lajsic, Ald. Probst, Ald. May, and Ald. Reinke No: 0 Upon conclusion of the closed session, the Safety & Development Committee will reconvene in open session at said time and place to consider its public agenda, including motions to recommend approval or rejection of above listed deliberations or any of the public agenda items that have not been acted upon. A motion was made by Ald. Probst, seconded by Ald. May, to reconvene in open session at said time and place. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Ald. Lajsic, Ald. Probst, Ald. May, and Ald. Reinke No: 0 G. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Ald. Probst, seconded by Ald. Reinke to adjourn the meeting at 7:24 p.m. The motion carried unanimously. CLOSED SESSION PLEASE TAKE NOTICE That the Safety & Development Committee of the City of West Allis will meet in open session Thursday, July 30, 2015, at approximately 6:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as time permits, in Room 118 of West Allis City Hall, 7525 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis, Wisconsin, to vote on a motion to convene in closed session at said time and place for discussion/action relative to: a. Discussion/action relative to negotiations for acquisition of the former Milwaukee Ductile Iron properties located within the 68th & Mitchell Redevelopment Area. b. Discussion/action relative to negotiations with various developers for the Six Points/Farmers Market Redevelopment Area. c. Discussion/action relative to negotiations with various developers for the 84th & Greenfield Redevelopment Area. Upon conclusion of the closed session, the Safety & Development Committee will reconvene in open session at said time and place to consider its public agenda, including motions to recommend approval or rejection of above listed deliberations or any of the public agenda items that have not been acted upon. G. ADJOURNMENT All meetings of the Safety & Development Committee are public meetings. In order for the general public to make comments at the committee meetings, the individual(s) must be scheduled (as an appearance) with the chair of the committee or the appropriate staff contact; otherwise, the meeting of the committee is a working session for the committee itself, and discussion by those in attendance is limited to committee members, the mayor, other alderpersons, staff and others that may be a party to the matter being discussed.
