CITY OF WEST HAVEN, CT BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS Minutes of the meeting held Tuesday, June 2, 2020 The regular meeting of the West Haven Board of Police Commissioners was called to order at 7 p.m. by Chairman Raymond Collins, III at Police Headquarters, 200 Saw Mill Road. All those present rose and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Attendance Raymond Collins, III, Chairman Present Paul E. Wright, Pension Board Present Joseph Perno, Chief of Police Present Carl Flemmig, Interim Deputy Chief Present Lee Tiernan, Corporation Counsel Present Agenda Commissioner Sweeney MOVED to accept the agenda as presented; SECONDED by Commissioner Butler. Motion carried unanimously. 1. Minutes for Approval Commissioner Sweeney MOVED to accept the minutes of March 3, 2020; SECONDED by Commissioner Butler. Motion carried unanimously. The following meetings were canceled due to COVID-19 social distancing: March 16, 2020 April 7, 2020 April 21, 2020 May 5, 2020 May 19, 2020 2. New Business – none presented 8.1 New Hires Commissioner Sweeney MOVED to approve the following new hires, effective June 5, 2020: Richard Cotto – Patrol Officer Grade C Matthew Longobardi – Patrol Officer Grade D Seconded by Commissioner Butler. Executive Session At 7:30 p.m., Commissioner Sweeney MOVED to enter Executive Session to discuss the Special Victims & Firearms Reports for February, March and April, 2020, the Street Crime Reports for February and March, 2020, and the Interview of New Hires; SECONDED by Commissioner Butler. Motion carried unanimously. 12. Return to Regular Session/Adjournment At 8:12 p.m. the Commissioners returned to Regular Session.
