In the Harriett North Room 2nd floor at 6:30 P.M. PRESENT: Commissioners Kane, Perrone, Braithwaite, ZEO Hotchkiss and Assistant City Planner Conniff. Absent were Commissioners Carr and Beecher. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Commissioner Braithwaite made a motion to approve the meeting minutes of April 18, 2023, seconded by Commissioner Perrone and passed. CONTINUED: 15 Linden Street: The applicant is looking for permission to build an inground swimming pool in the inland wetland upland review area. Under Section 7, 9, 10 and 11 of the City of West Haven Inland Wetland Watercourse and Open Space regulations. Owner/ Applicant Rosa Rodriguez. File # 016-23 IW Applicant is looking to build an inground pool. Commissioner Kane asked the applicant if she had a process and method of draining the pool because of the wetlands. Applicant affirmed she did. Mailings were submitted to the file and no comments from staff. Three calls were made to speak in favor and three calls were made to speak in opposition to this application. Public hearing closed. Deliberation: 15 Linden Street File # 016-23 IW Commissioner Braithwaite made a motion to approve File #016-23 IW, seconded by Commissioner Perrone and passed. PUBLIC HEARING: 142 Ivy Street: The applicant is seeking permission to install an above ground swimming pool in the inland wetland upland review area. Under Section 7, 9, 10 and 11 of the City of West Haven Inland Wetland Watercourse and Open Space regulations. Owner/ Applicant Gabriela Reis. File # 018-23 IW Applicant is installing an above ground pool and explained the water drainage process to the commission. Comments were read from the building department. Mailings were submitted to the file. No other comments from staff. Three calls were made to speak in favor and three calls were made to speak in opposition to this application. Public hearing closed. 1 Deliberation 142 Ivy Street File # 018-23 IW Commissioner Braithwaite made a motion to approve File #018-23 W, seconded by Commissioner Perrone and passed. 18 Thill Street: The applicant is seeking to construct a 20’x 24’ two story addition to the rear of the house in the inland wetland upland review area. Owner/ Applicant Maher Abuhatab. File # 019-23 IW Applicant is constructing a new two-story addition to the rear of the house. Commissioner Kane informed the applicant that the wetland area be protected during construction and debris is cleaned up. Building Official comments were read into the record and no other comments from staff and mailing were submitted to the file. Deliberation: 18 Thill Street File # 019-23 IW Commissioner Braithwaite made a motion to approve File #019-023 IW, seconded by Commissioner Perrone and passed. Staff Reports - none Other Business – Cease and desist was issued for a site on Boston Post Rd. Owner was filling the property with debris.
