CITY OF WESTMINSTER BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS MEETING SUMMARY Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 6 PM City Hall, 1838 Emerald Hill Lane A meeting of the Westminster Board of Zoning Appeals was held at City Hall, 1838 Emerald Hill Lane in Westminster, Maryland, 21157, on December 4, 2018, at 6 PM. Chair Ed Cramer, Vice-Chair Larry Berent, and Board Member Ken Bonner were present. Board Attorney Eric Blitz was present. City staff Andrew Gray was present. Ms. Tierney Dedmon of Al Betz & Associates, Inc. was present. There were no members of the public present. At 6:00 PM, Chair Cramer called the meeting to order. Vice-Chair Berent moved to approve the meeting summary of October 2, 2018. Board Member Bonner seconded. The motion passed. Chair Cramer opened the public hearing for Case #18-06. The Chair stated the purpose of the hearing and read the title into the record. Chair Cramer mentioned that the applicant had been contacted immediately before the hearing and that the applicant was at a business meeting and apologized. The Board discussed the timely notice the applicant received and the best way to move forward. Vice-Chair Berent made a motion to dismiss with prejudice. There was no second. Board Attorney Blitz explained to the Board their choices for moving forward. Mr. Gray asked the Board if it would be willing to grant a continuance so staff time and other resources could be saved by not having to re-advertise the hearing. Board Member Bonner made a motion for a continuance to January 8, 2019, at 6 PM in City Hall. Chair Cramer seconded. The motion passed 2-1. Chair Cramer made a motion to adjourn. The Board adjourned at 6:09 PM. Adopted on January 8, 2019
